Guess the league needs to look at these types of dangerous headshots as well.

You guys see Shanny's Good Decisions/Good Hits video?

Notable Players on Tryouts- The Results

Pandolfo signs with the Isles. -
No. They're right on point. Cracking down on nonsensical hits and dated social mores/wrongs is great for this league. Just because he's the biggest trash talker doesn't mean Avery ever called someone a f** or that he hasn't learned that it's not socially/politically/morally acceptable anymore. Now if the league starts cracking down on "yo momma..." and "that's what she said..." Avery might be in trouble. I'd love to see a non-call/non-suspension video on the Murry/Lapierre hit. (Mainly just to shut AV up.)
-
In viewing the above video, it certainly looks like the player being hit is embellishing just a smidge. However, Staubitz and Wiesniewski join the pre-season suspension queue. What's with these boneheads lining up for Shanny's hammer of justice. For the record, I haven't seen the video on either of these hits.

...and it looks as if he's got some 'splainin' via twitter to do already. Is Jody Shelley really that dumb?

James van Riemsdyk signs 6 year extension with Flyers

There are a couple of big IFs in this deal: If the salary cap continues to rise or at least stay at the same level over the next few years, then this isn't quite the gamble that it looks. ...but you are talking about a guy who is not even out of his entry level deal, has shown potential, but hasn't really had enough time to consistently produce... and now you've handed him 4+ million for the next six years. If JVR continues to develop as a player and hasn't hit his plateau in point production, no one will be second guessing the dollars in two years. I haven't seen the guy play that much, just know that he's been hyped a lot. Hopefully he can handle the pressure that's coming his way because there's going to be a lot of focus on him and his perceived value. He'll be the second highest paid forward on the team after this year. (More than Giroux, more than Hartnell.) ...and if he ain't earning those dollars, you know the Philly fans will let him have it. He seems like the real deal, but they're banking on potential not proof. -
I don't think he needs a full season with Lids, but he should be called up regularly and paired with Lids for the learning experience.
-
It was voted as the fan favorite win of the season... so they were going to show it one way or the other. The party might be taking it a little over the top.
-
So, it's two current Chicago defensemen that are the benchmark rather than the former.
-
Keep it to the Jason Williams thread.

Can't we keep the Jason "Friggin'" Williams talk in the Jason "Friggin'" Williams thread?

Buyout official: Preds owe Lebda $478,500 over the next two years.
-
Probably a salary number, Maj. No big deal. 7.1, 7.4, 8.2... all numbers that should not go alongside Brian Campbell's name. All too big.

No report of term but length at 5 years McKenzie reporting $5.9 cap hit/year

I am an idiot. They cannot walk. If I would have read all the way through the section. I downloaded the entire CBA. It states in section 12.10 (e) No Club shall be entitled to walk away from any award in a Club-elected salary arbitration. Guess it couldn't be more clear. If only I read the whole thing. My bad.
-
Not just pissed, but still pissed. Nabby was an option for last year and there's still people upset by this? Not everyone can be Kenny. Also, it's really easy and the cool thing to do to dump on the Isles.
-
I stand corrected?? It is totally not clear in the CBA that it stands that way. Read the bolded. Doesn't that read to you the team can still walk away? 12.6. Walk-Away Rights. (a) If a Club has elected to arbitrate a one year contract, and the award issued is for $550,000 or more per annum, then the Club may, within 72 hours after the award of the Arbitrator is issued (or if a Club has any other player still eligible for salary arbitration at that time and for whom a decision has not been rendered by an Arbitrator at that time, and the Club still has a walk-away right available to it in such League Year pursuant to paragraph (d) below, 72 hours after the award of the Arbitrator for such other player is issued), notify the player, the NHLPA and the NHL in writing that it does not intend to tender to the player a Player Contract based on the award as determined by the Arbitrator. Upon receipt of that notice, the player shall automatically be deemed to be an Unrestricted Free Agent, subject to the provisions of paragraphs © and (d) below. For the record, I'm not saying that you guys are wrong that the club can't walk away... but I'd love some clarity.
-
Player with the highest salary arbitration award ever too.
-
He's been with the Devils since they won their last cup. (read: aging at 34) More of a physical defensive minded defenseman who's lost a bit of snarl with age due to injury. (Serious facial injury back in 2007-08) Not much of a point producer. The Sharks are only sitting with 8 defensemen. Braun is still on an EL contract and may still be eligible to be sent down, but I dunno.
-
@TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie The only thing I want to know about the Patrick Sharp deal in CHI is what Joey The Junior Reporter thinks of it.
-
Well, if they walk they better lock up Suter and Rinne real quick like. but you know, all momentum may have been destroyed as soon as they traded for Lebda.
-
Does the arbitrator make the decision today? Nevermind. The arbitrator has 48 hours to decide.

As the Barclays Center is not too far from my apt. I would love the move. Markowitz would love everything to be the "Brooklyn _____" If Brooklyn is technically still on the Isle... isn't Brooklyn still then in NY? His hard-on for Brooklyn is sometimes maddening. Hell Marty, they're not the Manhattan Rangers.
