Did he f**king sign with somebody, yet? Christ. I'm over his old czech ass. HELLO!?!?!
-
RFA = Offer sheet =/= something Holland will ever do = Yandle NOT BEING A WING IN THIS OFFSEASON. Capiche?
-
Oh yes, that $500K is breaking the bank for the Jaguars... I mean, Panthers, I mean... Devi.. I mean, Ra... oh wait... Might as well. Where we agree Eva. We disagree. Love ya, bro! Really? ...wouldn't you pay $2.5 for an enforcer GMR. LOVE YA, BRO! Exactly.

I'm sorry. The man it's better than this outlook. You know better. Even if it is worst case scenario. Lids is a competitor. Hands down.
-
White before Kaberle??
-
Super Troopers. A must see.

"I swear to god I will pistol whip the next guy that says Shenanigans"

Which is why I don't want them to "chase" him. He's currently at roughly the same cap hit as Kronner and Stewie. Does he warrant a similar salary? With the increasing cap... does he earn a bit more... knowing the aforementioned will get raises next year? $3 - $3.3 over 3 years is what I would be comfortable with. I think you and I are in complete agreement on this. For s***s and giggles: Kronner - Wiz Lids - Ericsson White - Montador Kindl HA! BRAINFART. Left out Stuart. Kronwall - Stuart Lids - Ericsson White - Montador Kindl or Kronwall - Wiz Lids - Ericsson White - Stuart Kindl

I'm on board with you on that, sir. There isn't a UFA that can replace Raffi this year or next year... just in the same way that there won't be a replacement for Lids when he retires. He will be missed, but we can't sit back and lament about how great he was either and not think about what you're going to do to fill that void. I'm certainly not stating that White is a skill for skill, no team adjustments, no problems, fits like a puzzle piece replacement for Raffi. Just to be clear. ...but I also think that he'll be less expensive and possibly a better, more team friendly move than say someone like Kaberle or Ehrhoff, who could also be viewed as a "replacement" for Rafalski.
-
It's just that I keep reading: Replacement for Rafalski, Replacement for Rafalski, Replacement for Rafalski... all over the frigging place... over and over again. ...and I think to myself, how is this not possibly Ian White? He's only 27. Right Handed. He moves the puck well. Is above average skater and puck handler and has a big shot from the point. Give him a couple years of stability in the Detroit system and he will flourish. $3M for 3 years. Not breaking the bank and not an immovable contract if it doesn't work. Also, I found out my answer. Calgary avoided arbitration with White by offering him the $3M. Speculation says that Calgary saved themselves about half a million. To steal from DGB: Vulturing a team's young players that become FAs due to a paperwork gaffe: Cool. Offer-sheeting RFAs: HOW DARE YOU SIR??? ...God, I love days off where I can just f*** around on the computer and read/post about hockey all day long! Can't wait for Friday.

#JAGRWATCH: @plysenkov Pavel Lysenkov RT by wyshynski Agent Zidek told me, today Jagr will make decision. He has three offers - Pittsburgh, Detroit, Omsk...
-
Honestly, I think White would flourish in our system. A little stability might go a long way for him as well. I don't want to go chasing after the guy, but at the right price and term... I'd be okay with him. EDIT: WHITE WAS AWARDED THAT $3M FROM AN ARBITRATOR, NO? To your bolded Krause: I like. Very much. I certainly don't want the Wings leaving money out on the table this year, but I'd rather see that than chasing after big money question marks. (Kaberle/Ehrhoff) EDIT2: Clarity.
-
@TSNBobMcKenzie: Hearing Carolina has agreed to terms with Chad Larose on a two year deal. Larose will earn $1.5M next and $1.9M the season after that for an AAV of $1.7M
-
I bet the dollar difference between what the Wings offered and what Jagr ends up signing for in Pitts is less than $500K. I also bet there will be a lot of people pissed off about it.

My faves from the twitter feed: @Proteautype: There's no truth to the rumor Dale Tallon is resuscitating Obama's cash for clunkers program. Okay, maybe a little @JimNeveau I'm sorry I haven't been on Twitter sooner today. Couldn't see through the tears I got from laughing at Tomas Kopecky's contract. @TramyersCSN I liked Tomas Kopecky. But $3M per year?! God, I wish I lived is South Florida and had a decent wrist shot
-
I guess you can look at it that way, but Tallon was the guy who signed Campbell in the first place... so he knows what he's getting and it's a pretty significant move for a team that hopes to move in a different direction. Even if they do pick up Huet, they're still not paying him as much as they were paying Vokoun. Although, Vokoun is a superior goaltender for the money.
-
He just may do that. He's going to need a goaltender as Vokoun won't be back. Also, he could use Huet's salary to get to the floor. edit: spelling.
-
Has he cried about it yet?
-
Hmmm. Now you know what we all feel like when yours pop up. Go back to your line threads dude. At least I got to drink when those popped up. PS: Holland will never make an offer sheet for Doughty. It's just never going to happen. Doughty will hit the arbitrator if nothing else.
-
Which is it that you are looking for?
-
[Who is] Derek Meech?
-
Doubtful he will be a Shark. So, yes. It is an option. Not a popular one for most on the board.
-
Yeah, no s***. I spent six hours last night mod-ing a draft stream chatbox. I predicted before the draft started that we'd trade our pick for more picks. Yet, I still sat there and watched. Behold. Picks we wanted... gone. Trade imminent and complete ...and it was beautiful out last night. Could have been out drinking and socializing. Screw the second round.
-
You know, you're a real up person. As for Wiz's rights, I'm torn... I'm not a GM so I don't know if negotiating rights are really worth that much. I don't see any harm in trading away a pick for them if it means we can keep other teams away from him for a bit and driving up the price. and if you didn't think that Ericsson is going to be re-signed you're really dreaming. They are close. It will be for around 2 million or more. Prepare yourself for the worst.
