Concerning Jack Edwards: Watched Boston and Montreal the other night. Picked the Canadians stream (in French) over the NESN one, just to avoid listening to Jack Edwards. Note: I do not understand a lick of French. So while I couldn't understand a damn thing. It was way less annoying. As far as the brawl goes maybe a little much. Lucic was obviously pissed and I can see some of the guys on the ice thinking it was a bit high, so sure... fisticuffs are sure to happen. I don't like it when players fight after a clean hit, but emotions run high and I'm not surprised AT ALL when it happens. Savard needs to stay away from fighting. Always and forever.

Was just going to comment about this too. I love how they chalked it up to "tongue in cheek" comments and how Campbell has a good sense of humor. Oh, he's such a joke-ster! Funny sarcastic Collie. Lookout! He might get you with a shaving cream pie.

I feel bad for the fans. They continue to support that franchise in ways unimaginable* to me. I do not understand how the franchise has been able to string together so many bad choices for leadership on and off the ice. I'm not a huge fan of Burke, but for the fan's sake... I wish him all the luck. I think he did the franchise and the fans a disservice by trying to make the team better NOW with the Kessel trade. *Note: I did start following the Wings during the "Dead Wings" era, but Yzerman was playing and that was enough for me. The Leafs don't have that. EDIT: Not a Lion's fan. Matt Millen lasted two or three seasons longer than I could stand to continue watching them.

Seeing how they're in the East, I tend to agree. Ownership is the biggest problem with the franchise. Second to last in the league in spending. *Still* recovering from having Mike Millbury as GM for a series of bad years and bad moves. They're constantly in "rebuilding mode" While Garth Snow is trying to right the ship, there's still not a whole lot of solid veteran leadership to guide the young talent. Guess you gotta start with the coaching and go from there...

The question is now: Would you, as the GM, even have the balls to ask Thomas to waive his NTC at this point? Certainly this summer you thought about moving him because you've got Rask, you don't know how well he's going to play coming back from surgery, it frees up a hell of a lot of cap space, etc. Granted with the ABSURD numbers he's put up; he's certainly proven his contract worth and his value in a trade situation has gone up considerably... ...but why rock the boat? You've essentially got a 1A/1B goalie situation. You don't have a Price/Halak playing time situation. ...and if it comes to that you know you've got both goaltenders locked up through next year and you make a move when it suits you best. Boston has a win/win situation in goal. They only need to move Thomas if it suits them. To move Thomas just for a bit of cap space is a bit extreme. They're well better off moving an under-performing or fragile forward. Take your pick.

No offense Eva, but this sounds like pouting. I don't think Huds is even doing that. Haven't heard a cluck out of him about this whole playing/not playing/what line am I on/I want to be on line ______. Last night was great because he went out and played hard.

The top three lines all produced two goals, so saying that FFH was the best line out there seems a bit subjective. (I don't want to know what specific stat line you're looking at, so don't bother.) I'm not sold on Huds being top six, however he looked good and seemed to be working hard last night. I hope he "gets it" that he's being given a chance to prove himself and takes it upon himself to do so... and then keeps it up. Just to keep things in perspective, we're all bitching about our respective "favorite" players having to sit, and in the meantime we keep winning. What a terrible problem to have!
