You ain't kidding. My fear is that Kronwall is going to go straight to the first pairing.
-
I'm so sick of hearing about goalies. Neither are the issue. Both you and kr are right... it's the coaching in front of our netminder that's the issue.
-
I'm unclear as to why it's only Sproul and XO rotating in and out currently. I think Marchy needs to be a part of that rotation.
-
The Ducks seem to be "all in" for this season, so Fowler getting traded isn't going to happen unless there's a major colapse on their part. Their cap is set because it's more like an IF than WHEN for Gag... errr Despres. (thanks kr ) We need help through a trade ...AND drafting... and icing the right pairings... and coaching.
-
There's no conflict. It's pretty clear they should be splitting duties 60/40, with Mrazek getting the 60.
-
Probably because Chevy is eyeing the bigger prizes while Kenny is trying to unload a $4 million dollar contract the other way.
-
Let me fix that for you: Hard work - talent (or more realistically, a declining skill-set) = 3 to 5 years of Ken Holland extending your contract past it's expiration date for "veteran leadership role".
-
LGW!

I don't want to shift this thread to a discussion on Boston's prospects, but is Carlo that good? ...and I agree Buppy, Tatar/Nyquist + XO/Sproul + pick would seem to be enough. ...my guess is that salary is the biggest sticking point for the Wings being able to make a real move on Trouba.
-
This particular Miller fan-boy is ready for him to take a seat. We can ice a much better fourth line.
-
I know, I know, it's Kypreos. So, take it for what it is: Rumor... but... Spooner (a second/third line winger,) Carlo (their top prospect/rookie defenseman whose played exactly 9 NHL games) and a draft pick... I can see how Boston isn't going to make that trade with their depth problems, but how do we not have something along those lines or better to offer Winnipeg?
-
Source? IMO The likelihood of Ken Holland trading Jimmy Howard to a division rival when Boston has nothing to offer us is very very very very slim. Also, Rask is their ESTABLISHED starter. Don't think they're concerned about their goaltending so much that they'd acquire a 5.3 million dollar backup.

Green - DK Kronwall - Sproul Ericsson - Smith XO/Marchenko

^This. AND DEPTH.
-
He played three (NYR, SJS, BOS) plus part of tonight's game. The team in front of him has only played one of those games. So... yeah... GO AVERAGE JIMMY GO! (if only to increase your trade value)
-
So... who's your number one? It does sound like the Wings may not be interested in moving one even if teams were calling. A two goalie system may be part of their plan. “We were hoping, believing, the one-two punch we had in goal was going to be a strength. In the early going, it has been,” Holland said. “Touch wood, we’ve got both guys healthy. I think Jimmy is coming in understanding that Petr Mrazek is the No. 1 goaltender. He’s the backup. I think you have to practice different. You have a different mental outlook. … He’s going to play this weekend. In sports, every night is new.”

By no means did Boston dominate. Both teams played like hot garbage. All night it was: Turnover the puck, turnover the puck, turnover the puck... eventually that'll lead to a costly mistake ending with a puck in the back of the net. Unfortunately it was ours. Off night. I thought it might be a letdown game. Let's bounce back tonight.
-
Turnovers. Turnovers. Turnovers. Going to eventually lead to a bad goal. Was hoping that it was one of Boston's turnovers that was going to lead to the goal... Alas.
-
Am I talking to myself?
-
Really, really sloppy. Both teams. FINALLY SOME PRESSURE! Are we on a powerplay?
-
whoa that was close... messy messy start.
-
I asked my not quite two year old son if he wants to watch the Red Wings game tonight and he keeps saying, "Hockey, Hockey, hockey dad? Hockey?"
-
Wings all the way, brah! I just re-watched that RAW episode where Dude, Mankind, and Cactus all were on the same titantron. On Topic: I feel like tonight might be a letdown game for the Wings. I don't think it will an atrocious loss, but I'm watching trepidatiously.

When contacted after Dreger’s report, Overhardt had this to say: “The situation is solely about usage. As we have previously stated, it has nothing to do with Winnipeg as Jacob has the upmost respect for the fans, the city, his teammates and organization,” Overhardt told TSN. “Several teams remain interested in Jacob and are willing to work with the club.” Lawless notes that the “perception of an anti-Winnipeg and now anti-Canada bias grows.” Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff still values Trouba and wants him to play for the Jets. Agents have stated that Trouba has to be in the mindset that he may not play before December 1st ...sounds like Trouba wants the D. He needs the D.
