I do like that they have the draft picks along the side when you click on the team to show what picks you've got over the next few years and also that under the tools section they've got the draft pick slots lined up with who's picking where and the conditions. That being said, I still seem to get a lot of dead-ends on the site... either unfinished or maybe due to increased traffic? (I saw the site pop up on very subtly on Deadspin, so I'm sure more people are checking it out) They've got a ways to go before they're competing where CapGeek was... but I will say it's a start. Teaming this site up with nhlnumbers.com and sportrac.com/nhl is helping me out slightly with the loss of CapGeek.

I'm fine with not getting power plays for penalties that don't exist, or aren't deserved. ...but on the other hand you should get the benefit of the doubt when it's simply following through on a shot. Not an actual high sticking penalty.

I watch A LOT of Isles games. He's pretty damn good. Leading the Isles defensemen in points. Has great chemistry with Leddy. Locking those two up for the next few (maybe 7 is too long) was totally worth it for the Isles. Shows that they're serious about contending. As far as their cap woes and such.... Guessing that Snow figures he will lose at least one of his forwards to free agency (Grabner, Okposo, Neilson, Martin) but they're also currently sitting at a reasonable cap hit and some may only need a slight raise to keep around on whats turning out to be a really solid team. Also, Yashin's cap hit finally comes off the books. So, there's another 2.2 million finally freed up.

Extended Leddy and Boychuk. Sounds like Snow is really tired of losing his defensemen to Philly. Maybe a bit expensive but when you've got the rest of your D locked up for another few years, or they are RFA (with the exception of Strait) It isn't probably that much higher than what they (Leddy/Boychuk) might get on the open market. Also, you have to figure that Visnovsky is about done. Maybe another year, but not at $6million.

So, the forum that decries the guy every chance they get because he's lazy, sucks, and doesn't try hard enough... is now going to complain about the fact that he's actually going to try to come back from serious injury? Seriously?! Come ON! I really shouldn't be surprised, but... Do you really think the Wings would allow him to hit the ice if he weren't ready to at least give it a real shot at coming back? On top of that -- None of us are doctors... so don't pretend you know what's best for his career, his long term health, etc. despite anything you may have learned in HS Physiology/Anatomy classes. You don't know. AND if he's at least trying to get back out there on the ice for his team, with his horrible boat anchor of a contract (not actually) you should give him around of applause for trying.
