Anyway, I don't think it's a problem to bring him up for at least a bit. He should get a few games so that Babcock can see what he's got, and so that MANAGEMENT sees how Babcock uses the kid. If this teams woes really are behind the bench, they need to see how Babcock is going to deal with a raw/untested talent* like Mantha, no? *by that I mean, in the NHL. EDIT: Clarity

I took a serious dump on the guy, the signing, and everything that had anything to do with Danny Cleary in the off-season. ...and I like the guy. ...just thought he had NO BUSINESS getting a wiff of this season's roster. ...and well, he hasn't been too shabby. Still falls down a lot though... #CLEARSDOWN

When your HoF defense partner up and retires on you... you kinda get exposed for the second-rate player that you are. For the record: I like Ian White. Perron is going to demand a trade very, very, very soon. Oil lost their 6th straight last night and Perron was the only goal scorer. Question? Was Eakins hired before MacT or did they both come in at essentially the same time?

Love Mantha using the Monster players face to help him get to his feet after the goal/scrum. ...and good to see Weiss feeling more comfortable, skating, and scoring. Perfectly happy with him taking it easy on himself for a bit, both physically and mentally.

Of course we'd all love him over Cleary, but everyone should know by now that is not going to ******* happen EVER with Babcock and Holland. Yes, I do blame them both! Also, why would teams offer us anything if they know there's a likelihood that we're going to waive him and they can get him for nothing? Carolina has A LOT of holes, they can take a chance on this kid in their line-up and send some of their younger players back down for more time in the minors. Teams "know" that we don't want to send Jurco back down, even though he's still got waivers. Teams "know" that we're not going to waive Cleary... or even if we did... he'd be playing for the Griffins not getting picked up. So they wait, and they see players hit that waiver list and they grab them. Everyone needs to stop over-valuing a guy that's a currently a mid-tier prospect at the very most.

It happens... it's supposed to. Players score goals in this game. Also, it's how waivers work... Player gets waived, claimed, wants to make an impression on his new team, really goes out and hustles and scores in his first game. (Not to say that Nesty didn't work hard here or want to make an impression.) As far as the goal goes was it an Amazing goal? No. Beautiful goal? No. Spectacular goal? No. It was a solid, hard working goal that is almost a bit flukey/soft... and I'm trying to give Nestrasil as much credit as possible... but this was the third goal Berra gave up in the first period. He was immediately pulled and commentators said that Berra had looked "shaky from the start" (yes, I was flipping channels on CenterIce because the Wings were having such a wonderful outing last night.)

Crazy end to the Rags/Pens game. Rangers "win" Called back Boyle's goal after teams went to the dressing rooms. Sutter scores on Lunquvist. MAF stops Nash. Pens win. CRaZeeeeEeee. Also, Boyle with horrible giveaway ala some of our favorite whipping boys that lead to scoring chance/goal. So glad we're not paying him.

Clean. Devastating. Glad to see Girardi come back out in OT.
