Yes, that's the real problem around here... kip's first language is logic.

I don't think you understood me at all. I know humor/sarcasm doesn't translate well on the internet.

I'm going to reserve my frustration, depression, loss of will to live, rage towards Ken Holland's existence till after July 1st. We've got the draft upcoming - June 27, 28. Compliance buyouts that can happen until June 30th and Free Agency that begins on the first. This is a frustrating two weeks where the Finals are over and almost nothing but speculation can happen. So, let's all take a deep breath and collect ourselves. Some of us are beginning to sound like frantic lunatics. Some of us are already there. Hell, maybe the site needs to change it's name for the week. "LetsAllBreathe" /voice of reason speech

Are 'Team Grit, Durability, and Truculence,' 'Size/Stature,' and 'Nationality Compliment' seminars available in GM school?

OMG. This made my day! -
Good Lord. Five pages already. *resists urges to read what will ultimately be a clusterf*** of paranoia and whiny bulls**** SUCCESS!

I hope he didn't hear any one making fun of him... I hear he's not afraid to fight. Also, if Glenfiddich was on our fourth line. I'd have that jersey already. Goddamn that'd be awesome. I'd settle for a Daniels, Beam, Walker... hell, even Powers. -
If Trotz can get in the ear of GMBM... I think Legwand will end up in Washington. Trotz loved Legwand and the Caps could use a guy like that. Maybe Eaves too if Trotz liked him enough. Good luck Patty.

As far as Lapointe goes: He wanted to be the MAN. Which he was never going to be on a stacked Wings team... so he went to Boston and as number9 said... once he left the Wings he was exposed as the player he actually was. As far as the Kings go: Ken Holland is no Dean Lombardi. Lombardi is fearless with trades. Ken Holland was once fearless... when he had Mike Illitch's open checkbook. So, Yes. It can be done. ...but to pretend that KH is capable of it? You're kidding yourself. He's just finally turning the corner on understanding that not all prospects need to over-ripen or that resigning guys that didn't work that well the first time around should be re-signed just because they "know the system."

Did someone hack your account today? This is the most negative post I've seen from you this off-season. I'm worried. Please let me know if you're okay.

I know they are just being used as examples of Wings players that have the toughness you're looking for but, those guys collected points and PIMs almost 20 years ago. Lets not bring time-travel into the thread. Even though the game has gotten bigger/stronger/faster, the league doesn't have a wealth of guys that have all those traits wrapped up nicely in the one player package. Also, the league didn't have a salary cap so as coveted as those players were, even then, they were easier to obtain because all you had to do was PAY THEM WHATEVER MR. I WAS WILLING TO SPEND.

Shawn Thornton will not be returning to the Bruins

...and now they're moving on from him. So, what was that about last year? -
Why so negative, bro?

They may be. I can see why. ...but if they're unwilling to trade Hall, Eberle, RNH and MacT wants to make some moves, Perron may be tradeable. Other than that it's Gagner and Yak that I can see as movable pieces. I've no interest in Gagner and Yakupov isn't the high on my list either. Don't encourage him.

I do not mind Abdelkader in the top six every so often, but he should not be taking regular shifts on the 1st and 2nd line, no matter how much Datsyuk likes him there. I'm sure Dats said that specifically so Babs would put him there instead of Cleary. I just think that Thornton is a relic. No one needs a pure enforcer anymore. I don't mind his abilities in getting his team going and his non-stop, never-say-die attitude, but the fact that he lacks any hockey skill and has to work *so* hard to gather the few points that he accumulates, plus is a liability with bad penalties is a "no go" for me. -

Never did I say that Thornton would make us better. Pretty sure that I indicated that a 4th line of Miller - Helm -Abs is the better option. Threw Abdelkader's name out there... could have easily said, Glendening (probable as our 13th forward) or Miller. -

Abdelkader? ...but as I said above. I'd rather have the energy line of: Miller - Helm - Abby, as our fourth line. Then either of those two (Gazdic or Thorton) -

As if. (...not that I don't think we're softish) Honestly, both of those guys would drag down the speed and energy of our fourth line. Would rather: Miller - Helm - Abby than Miller - Helm - Gazdic or Thorton -
The problem is you'll just have to wait for the rest. It's not Draft Day and Free Agency has yet to begin. So those things can't be done yet. At least not in that order. See! You can see the bright side of things! Holland is doing SOMETHING!!

About Jarnkrok -- I wasn't calling you out specifically, Lefty. HOWEVER, So, with exactly ONE, promised spot and in his first year with the league Brunner put up: 12 Goals, 14 Assists (over a shortened season) // 5 and 4 in the play-offs. 2012-13 Detroit Red Wings NHL 44 12 14 26 12 -6 14 5 4 9 4 ...and then we didn't re-sign him because he wanted too much out of his next contract. So, exactly where was that a mis-step? Projects and Prospects balanced with Free Agent signings and Trades is how it works. Sorry!
-
No thanks. Not if he's not willing to take under $4 million.

Holland's M.O. is also to let players over-ripen and earn their spot on the team at training camp. Who said he's jumping directly into the NHL? All these guys are going to have to make the team through camp, you know that!! So, don't get your knickers in a bunch ...and what harm is there in restocking our forward prospects? I mean you were all crying about Jarnkrok being traded, here's KH restocking the cupboards. Sekac is listed at 6'2" 174lbs. For reference: Calle Jarnkrok - 22 y/o Height: 6' 0" (1.83 m) Weight: 188 lbs (85 kg) So this guy, Sekac, needs to put on a few pounds. Big whoop. What Euro coming over the league doesn't need to? He's also two inches taller than Jarnkrok. So... ultimately bigger? Y'all are still mad only because you can't get the coolest name in hockey on a Wings jersey, right?
