GDT ECQF - Game 4 - Bruins 3 at Red Wings 2 (F/OT)

Ooof. -
Pretty damn classy by Dallas fans giving encouragement to Robidas (long-time Dallas player) who came off the ice with an injury.
-
Guess you wanna come back from a deficit if you want to win a game in this series. Truly surprised that MAF didn't melt down, but CBJ needed to put a bit more pressure on them. Shots on goal for Colombus were 7 - 8 - 5... that just ain't gonna do it.
-
I don't think you change a damn thing. I think Babcock needs to remind the boys that Game 1 went our way and if we play our game, Game 3 could go the same way. Don't rock the boat. Don't make costly mistakes. Play Game 1 again.

BJs strike first at 1:38 of the 1st period. 2nd shot on goal. Que the Fleury meltdown. Jack Johnson scores.

Gonna get nasty methinks.

If this thread had been bumped say, April 1... I'd have a laugh. ...but lets be real. Perspective is everything. So is hindsight. -
Good to see that Stammer is still in the game.

gdt ECQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Bruins 4 - Series tied 1-1

Let us pause for a second. Bruins fans -- not all, but some -- booed Jesus. ON EASTER. Not cool, Boston. If you lose this series, you can probably point to the negative karma accrued by booing the Christ on his big day. (Additionally, you no longer get to make fun of Philadelphia for booing Santa.) -
Ooof.

I'm going to readily admit that this game got shut off real quick and I went outside in a beautiful New York day with my wife and dog. The initial gaffe was horrendous, but the continued play after that was worse. Won't put it all on Howard... the back-pass by Sheahan was a bad move. Smith probably is beating himself up about the bounce off his skate, but honestly Babcock should have called the time out right then and there to settle down the boys. -
You'd think that some of their fans (Pens or Phoenix for that matter) would have learned the game by now.

Woo! Go BJs. I love them BJs

Green light? Really. Isn't already open season for cheap shots on guys that aren't looking. Anyway, I thought your best players didn't play game one because of the sniffles. We've got legit injuries over here, pal. Also, as far as I can recall... yeah, pretty sure Detroit has won the President's Trophy over the years... 23 years of playoffs (skin of teeth or other-wise, through adversity, injury, etc. or otherwise) ...teams that win the President's Trophy... often go out early. So enjoy that sentiment. ...and as far as chucking knuckles. Yeah, big bruiser Lucic. Grand Champion of spot picking knuckle-chucking... what did he do last night? Certainly didn't throw any bombs. (Unless it was after a whistle or the game was over) More like cheap shots to a guy who isn't even looking. Real Tough. Real Classy. GTFOH.

Stick to the nuts is old news. No penalty. No fine. No suspension. Let's get real... this is teh PLAYOFFS! /sarcasm. In other news: Dear Pittsburgh Fans, Just because your players fall down when hit by an opposing Blue Jacket player does not mean that you should boo if there is no penalty called. Hitting is still (partially) legal in Ye Olde NHL. Yours Truly, e.

Washington up 3 goals on St. Louis. Toronto continues to lay a goose-egg.
-
Jackets in OT Ryan Johansen is a killer.
-
Was a little rough game for Kronner tonight, but as long as he gets it up for tomorrow night...
-
Especially for tomorrow's game... and I'm pretty okay with that.
-
Looks as if the standings will stay the same. Oh, wait... I forgot... the Leafs just may fall further out of the picture if Washington keeps their lead against St. Louis. EDIT: Too soon! Coyotes just tied up game with CBJ. :14.6 left in the 3rd. Would have no problem with CBJ not picking up two points tonight.

Detroit says Weiss "Not Getting Better", likely done for year

The problem was/has been that he was never fully healthy... even to start the season. Agree that he has a lot of work to do to get himself back, but there really was no way of knowing that this would be the outcome of his initial season with the Wings. It's a shame. ...and to say otherwise is foolish. Clarkson may be healthy, but he'll have been out 22 games over the course of the season (10 game suspension, 2 games suspension, and 10 missed games due to injury/flu) On top of that, he certainly hasn't been the same player that he was when he was in NJ. 5 goals, 6 assists, -14. So, I'm really torn. I like him as a player but I think LaffsNation might have thought they were getting a little more than this when he was signed... alot of people here had the same thoughts about him... So yeah, he'd probably have been a disappointment here too. Additionally, you gotta remember that Weiss was signed because he was a center and essentially a replacement for Filpulla. Clarkson is not a centerman. -
Very true. The Wings do control their fate at this point. ...but still, any help is nice. Inadvertent or deliberate.

*pbbbbbbbbtttttt* C'mon Boston. That was just weak.

April 4 - Buffalo April 5 - @Montreal April 8 - @Buffalo April 9 - @Pittsburgh April 11 - Carolina April 13 - @St. Louis Those two home games are MUST WINS. I actually like the fact that 3 of those 4 road games are going to be hard fought. A real test for the playoffs. Keep the foot on the gas, boys.

Yeah, I know... but for a while there we were just scratching, clawing, and holding on to 8th. It's nice to see us putting together some wins, grabbing up some points and catching up to Philly and the Rags.
