They don't need $200,000 for a several-million dollar man. It's chump change from the Russian clubs POV. They really think that the Russian labor law will be changed soon, and the Russian players contracts will become enforcible on the international level. When that happens, an NHL club that wants to get their draft pick before his Russian contract is over, they'll have to negotiate directly with the Russian club for compensation.

Hi,NFM , thanks again for doing this. here are my picks. Not very original DET/ANA Detroit 4-2 BUF/OTT Buffalo 4-2

Since Russia is not a signatory to the IIHF-NHL treaty, Grigorenko can simply pickup and go back to Russia at any moment. Like Kaigorodov did this year, when it became clear that he wasn't making the Ottawa roster.
-
Thre's no way Grigorenko would accept a two-way deal, unless it's at a full salary both ways. He has a family, and he would make more in Russia next season then the $850K he would get in DET.
-
Just so we don't get too scared, he meant Minnesota.

We beat Kipper in Calgurly and we'd beaten him now in SJ. And since we have the time machine, I'd like the Russian Five back.

Victory!! Duck season is now OPEN.

I don't think the Sharks really believe they have a PP
-
Looked like a Wings PP for a while.
-
Samuelsson for Conn Smythe!!!!!!!!!!
-
Isn't Hasek supposed to stop pucks, not Lidstrom? Dom owes someone a big steak dinner
-
Samuelsson! He's my hero!!!
-
I hope you know WHAT they'll cut off if you do
-
Franzen might be OK as a D-man, but it's too risky to do this in the playoffs. You need several games to get the positioning right.
-
You may be right. Too bad that the Sharks can't win two games in a row to save their lives, because there's no Game 8.
-
I don't believe that Grigorenko would sign a two-way contract. He will come over only if he is sure to make the first team. Otherwise, he'll be going back to Russia to play there. The difference in pay between AHL and RSL is too great.
