In game 1, Wings had 30 hits to SJ 24. Today both teams had 23 hits. The only thing that the Wings did better in this game, statistically, were faceoffs wins 58% in Gm 2 to 42% in Gm 1, and 3 goals on 23 shots instead of 0 for 30. I thought that the Wings did a better job of driving the net and getting to the rebounds. The rebounds were there in game 1 too, but the Wings couldn't get to them. And the Sharks played worse in the 2nd and 3rd periods of Gm 2 then they did in 2nd +3rd of Gm 1. Getting the 2 goal lead again played a trick on them, they tried to sit on the lead again, but it didn't work the second time.

Did you watch the game? The Sharks got lucky to go up 2-0. After that theWings EARNED their luck.

The first goal was scored on a blue line wrist shot, that wasn't deflected or screened. Hasek was too deep in the net. If he just came out 2 feet, the goal wouldn't have been scored. Hasek is human and he made a mistake.

Loo, Hasek IS a HOF goalie. He made a few good saves in this game and many in the last one. I hope and believe that he will contribute to the Wings victory today. But he did make two bad mistakes and cost the team 2 goals in this game. Give the credit where it's due, but accept the blame when it's deserved.

Lets be honest here. Detroit went two goals down because of Hasek. Then they got one back on a lucky bounce. Sharks looked better, but if not for luck/goalie mistakes, the game would have been 0-0 now. Way too early to panic. Sharks are a very good team, but they also are a young team and are bound to make mistakes, sooper or later. The Wings need to be patient and play their game. You got to deal with adversity to win. LETS GO WINGS!!

If a team composed of players born and raised in Canada, Russia, Sweden, Czech Rep. etc. with a couple of US born players happens to be based in a US city, and wins the Cup, that hardly says that US hockey is superior. The arena for such comparisons is the Olympics and World Championships (likethe one starting in Moscow on Friday). If the US team does well, then you can brag.
