This sucked... No worries, the Preds will lose in Columbus tomorrow.

Tactically, Hasek was correct in trying to get to the dumped in puck as early as possible and get it to our D, so the Oilers couldn't establish their forecheck. Unfortunately, he is not as good a puckandler as Brodeur. I don't know if that skill can be trained up quickly, but I wouldn't guess so.

Schneider for Zubrus and a pick?
-
If Tikhonov, Dave King, and Hitchcock couldn't make Zherdev play defense, what makes you think Babcock could?
-
The Oilers got 6 out of 8 points vs the Wings, and the Wings got 5 out of 8 points vs the Oilers, and the Oilers won 3 of 4. You got to love the new NHL arithmetic...
-
Hope?Absolutely. Bet on it? Nope.
-
Hasek looked awkward in the shootout. Is he OK?
-
Cr*p. Hasek lost the gamble he took coming out of the net. Why do Wings D-men seem to not expect the Oilers going wide with speed? They seem to be surprised by that every time.

Definition of a crosscheck: pushing an opponent with the shaft of your stick, not your hands. Which is exactly what Sykora did to Zetterberg. Good defense, my fanny.

What a sloppy game by both teams. EDM has an excuse of playing a second half of a back-to-back and at the end of a long road trip. What's our excuse?
-
A penalty call, when there already was a delayed penalty up. A rare thing to see. 4 on 3 is supposed tobe even better than 5 on 4 PP.
-
That was a bit of a high hit by Kronwall. Who wanted physical play around here?
-
Where was the D on that, I'm looking at you, Chelios!
-
Score! Guess who
-
5-3 gotta score here.
-
You mean he'll like double his season output?
-
He did. He signed a two-year contract with Vityaz and he had an NHL release clause in it. But he decided not to excersize that clause and fullfill the remainiung 1+ year of his contract. Loyal guy? Yes. Idiot? No.

His mouth is the only thing that's working anymore. Certainly his speed and aggressiveness aren't there.

Since it is Eklund, that must mean that the deal with the Blues is indeed imminent. Dallas Drake for a 4th rounder.

You must not have seen the way Aucoin embarassed himself against the Wings yesterday. Bad timing for your trade idea.

I wonder if I saw the same game as you did. I thought that the Datsyuk's SH breakaway goal was the turning point, and the GW was scored by Zetterberg from a very nice pass from Datsyuk. And Datsyuk was named the 1st star very deservedly. Pavel may or may not score a lot in the next playoffs, but this Wednesdey's game was not a good example of him sucking and Zetterberg having to carry the team.

Snow in the crease is a goalie's friend. Makes crawling easier, and may stop a trickling through puck.

The incident happened in Denver, I think. But since both the defendant and his team are based in Vancouver, Colorado court decided that the case should be heard there. I'm no lawyer, but I think that's a copout. When US courts want to get someone, the jurisdiction matters magically resolve themselves. If this was a murder or, god forbid, tax evasion case, nobody would care that the defendant lives in Canada. He'd be extradited and tried in the US faster than you can say Manuel Noriega. Edit: My mistake, it happened in Vancouver. Disregard the above tirade.

Lapointe was offered 5 mil. a year by Boston. He couldn't pass that up.
