Vladdy was an great defenseman in terms of physical, dynamical play and on-ice-presence. But as much as I love and respect the man, personally I don't think he was the greatest at his position. I understand if people tend to give him more credit because of the tragedy that happened to him, but that's not fair to him. No one knows what would, should or could have. We all remember Vladdy as this enormous beast who wore the Red Wing with pride and was feared among all players around the league. let's not tarnish that image with a discussion how good he actually was... cause we probably will never know.

let's be perfectly clear: When someone loses control, like Ribeiro obviously did, it's very easy to hit a goaltender under on on his neck-guard. Ribeiro's hit was stupid and flatout dangerous. He should get a 1 or 2 game suspension. But he probably won't..

Chris Osgood & Jimmy Howard in 08-09. We've been trough this before. I think it unnecessary to overly discuss any other options. Unless Holland could land a goalie like Luongo with a reasonable trade, other speculations are not realistic.

Malkin is still a very young guy. let's give him some room to make mistakes and learn from 'em. I don't think he's overly dirty, but his times sometimes tends to be a little off which generates a couple of penalties in a game.
