I don't hate Bettman that much actually. Of course he has made some bonehead decisions, but overall he has done a good job. We're all bitchin' and moaning about how big a f***up he is, but the man has arguably one of the toughest directing jobs in North American sports. And it's not like he's responsible for every little mishap in the NHL.

I think Manny is still a great guy. First of all, most guys we hate are usually elite players who are hated by fans of opposing teams. I've never heard people hating 4th line players... Second, your list is quite personal I think. Pronger is the only one who'll get a 90 % hate-rate here on LGW. But the rest of those names....nah... Who hates Sakic ? He's one of the most respected players of the last decade...

Luongo - Top 3 in the league, arguably the best in the league. Forsberg - has been seriously injured for 8 months... let's not overestimate his possible impact (on any team) Sundin - great player, but without the supporting players he'll be in the same situation as he is now in Toronto. Naslund - hasn't impressed anyone since the lockout Sedin Twins - Combined with Sundin they make ONE decent line Morrison - ever before he went on IR, he wasn't very impressive. Even if this unlikely scenario would occur, I don't think they would be able to make it past the first round in the playoffs.

Right now, I guess you could link 500 people withn the NHL community to the position of Maple Leafs GM. And sure, Steve Yzerman is one of 'em. You could ask this question on the market square in Bombay or Nairobi on a busy Saturday morning and everyone will say the same: Steve Yzerman will never ever leave the Wings (for another NHL-franchise that is..) Literally everybody knows this.
