Exactly. Especially when the regular backup is actually the dude from Jackass... Ehren MacGhehey .. or something.
-
I disagree, a dude who's cool enough to rock a moustache and who doesn't care he looks like a long-haired Tom Selleck has my vote. EDIT: And the guy cut down his hair to make hairpieces of for childeren who lost theirs in thei battle against cancer. Good bloke.

Good for Cujo. I'm happy for him.
-
Sure ! Take your time, we're grateful someone does all the dirty work...
-
Jessica Alba on our blueline would look great too. Bottomline is we don't need both of them..
-
ouch..... yes, I mean Nashville !
-
Allright.... IMO Cujo is better than: Mason (or Ellis) - San Jose Garon (or Roloson) - Edmonton Toskala - Toronto whoever is starting - LA Budaj - Avalanche Fleury / Conklin / Thibault - Pittsburgh Holmqvist - Tampa

So, an NHL veteran of 17 years and 3-time Stanley Cup champion has one goal and two assists in three games in the IHL ? Come on.... that's really not a reason to optimistic. I love Darren for everything he has done for the Detroit Red Wings, but I really think it's going to be a huge challenge for him to even get a contract in Grand Rapids. He won't play for the Wings. Let's get real here..

I could name 10 staring goaltenders who are all lesser goaltenders than Cujo. There should be plenty of room for a goalie like him.
-
4 years ago maybe.. Now he's a former top-5 D-man who's clearly aging and who's numbers are going down every year. To be playing on a team like LA doesn't help as well. We don't need Rob Blake. We don't have defensive problems.

Not important news... but it's a nice read and it's always good to upgrade your NHL-knowledge, right ? What's In A Name ? A contest was held with over 8,000 fans offering some 2,800 suggestions with six being narrowed down as finalists – the Blue Ox, Freeze, Northern Lights, Voyageurs, White Bears and Wild. The latter entry was eventually chosen in reference to the state’s wildlife, outdoor activity and natural beauty. The Minnesota Blue Ox.... the horror..

Wikipedia: The franchise was founded as the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons, a National Basketball League (NBL) team, playing in the gym of North Side High School. Owner Fred Zollner's Zollner Corporation was a foundry, manufacturing pistons primarily for car, truck and locomotive engines Zollner Corporation, formed in 1912, was a Tier-1 supplier of pistons to companies such as Ford, General Motors, International Harvester (now Navistar), John Deere and Outboard Marine. At one time, he employed more than 1000 people in his Fort Wayne, Indiana foundry. The company had 230 employees when it was acquired by Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG in 1999.

Sounds / Reads like a good day indeed !! Awesome !
-
McCarty will always be a Red Wing for me, but he'll never ever play for the Wings again. Be realistic !
-
Yeah... that's a bad one.. How about Colorado Outlaws ??? How was that even a candidate ? It's okay to give your motorcycle gang that name, but not a hockey-franchise...
-
Indeed ! Those two will have a good laugh about it in the lockerroom !
-
It's just one of those games / losses. Everyone could have and should have played better... but they didn't. There will be more of these games.. we just can't win 'em all. Well, actually we could, but on some nights things will just fall apart. It's hockey.

First and foremost: I'm thrilled seeing Ozzie back in an All-Star game ! Bloody awesome !!!! However, while Leclaire would have been an obvious pick, I don't think that should mean Legace shouldn't be. Stats-wise Leclaire is better, but Legace has been far more consistent and has been a true MVP to his team.

Brilliance is probably a bit too much.

even Ethan ?

Exactly.. That's why I took the liberty to make some adjustments on his player bio on TSN:

Lidstrom may be the NHL's perfect player (NHL.com)

Maybe they'll make a trophy out of it once: The Nick Lidstrom Memorial Trophy: Awarded to the player who tapes their stick better than anyone else in the Nationale Hockey League
