You're right. It is horrible. And it clearly shows.... the Ducks went from a Stanley Cup champion team to a mediocre NHL team. Trading McDonald for Doug Weight ?? That's really not a step forward, IMO. Niedermayer is a great hockeyplayer, but hardly the messias the Ducks should be looking for.

First of all, I think Ozzie will sign a 2 year, perhaps even 3 year, deal with the Red Wings. Besides that, I really wouldn't be suprised if Dom signs for another year. He still likes to compete, he's still eager. However, much depends on the outcome of this season. If the Wings win the SC, Dom will retire a happy man, that's for sure.

Their defense is not giving a lot of support, true. But Cam Ward is really not that great of goaltender. The Conn Smythe two years ago was a fluke, IMO.

Just to be clear: Everybody want him to be, but Jimmy Howard is NOWHERE NEAR being a NHL starting goaltender. So don't get your hopes up for next season

Indeed. Ozzie loves Detroit and we love Ozzie !! If Kenny would offer him a (let's say) 2 year deal for 1.8 mill, Ozzie would take it. He's that kind of a nice guy. But he deserves a raise though. Don't be suprised however if other teams with sloppy goaltending will try to take him. Think of Tampa, Pittsburgh, Colorado even. Ozzie wouldn't do that people, so don't be alarmed !!! The horror: Ozzie in a Lightning jersey....brrrr....

With the win against Nashville Ozzie now has 350 wins in 14 seasons of NHL ! Congratulations Oz !! Just 6 more and he will pass Rogie Vachon for the 15th spot all time. It's optimistic, but if Ozzie (and the Wings of course) can keep playing like they do now, he could reach Tom Barrasso's 369 and maybe even Andy Moog's 372 and even Beezer's 374. The other goaltenders who should be in Ozzie's reach in the next few years are: Mike Vernon - 385 Grant Fuhr - 403 Glenn Hall - 407 Tony Esposito - 423 Jacques Plante - 435 Curtis Joseph - 446 And it would be historical if if Ozzie could surpass our own Terry Sawchuk, 447... Hell no ! Rafalski is a very good defensive player. TOP 5 in the league if you ask me. The thing is we tend to be a little spoiled because we are watching Nick Lidstrom for the past 10 year, playing almost flawless in every game. Nick is one of a kind, so let's not compare Rafalski to him. He's exaclty doing what he's hired to do: Play a good, tight, defensive game and be a presence on the powerplay.

I am happy Ozzie hasn't lost his edge after sitting out a couple of games ! Ozzie is still the number one goalie in the NHL !! Eat that, Lundqvist !

It was a dumb move by Hasek. Not because of Gaborik, but he could have hurt himself ... bad ! I've been a goalie for a long time and sometimes in the heat of the game you make a wrong decision in a split second. But this one was plain stupid. I don't care if it's Ozzie or Dom, our goalies shouldn't and don't have to take risks like this.
