Man, I didn't realize Nummelin has scored that much in shootouts ! He's a defenseman, right ??

True, I meant Zetterberg of course ! And thanks for the tip on organization... didn't know that. (should have though.. ) -

It's so cool to read all those positive things about Ozzie on ESPN, SI, TSN, FOXSPORTS ! Really cool !

I'm not impressed by Ozzie in the sense that he's playing well. I know he's a good goaltender and I know what he's capable of. However, I am impressed by the fact he has raised it's level to a level which is not within the reach of Dominik Hasek right now. Surely Dom is not making it difficult right now, because he's kinda in a dark place himself right now, but Ozzie is being very consistently good. The title MVP is, IMO, a tie between Ozzie and Zetterberg. The man brings an offensive spark, every night. Making goals and assisting on others. We should be glad to have him within our organisation ! -
Looks great Matt !! Thanks very much !

Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal
interminded replied to 96warrior's topic in General
If Babcock wants to get Dom back in the game and build some confidence, Phoenix would have been a better choice. If Babcock wants to take advantage of a hot goalie who gets points, then he should play Ozzie against Montreal. -
Where's 61* ? The HBO movie about the Mickey Mantle's homerun record chase ? I thought that was a very wellmade movie.

I agree with OsGod. Dude is still young and has a lot to learn. Let him develop. I would be satisfied with 30-35 goals. That would be awesome.

source: forecaster If Jagr becomes a free agent after this season, then A) should we try to get him and B) if so, what should we pay him ?? Personally, I think Jagr is that talented, that he even can be a premier goalscorer in his 'late' thirties. And I would love to see him in a Red Wings jersey. As far as is infamous antics go... I think Detroit can provide the surroundings for him to be motivated and a set of players around him in which he can feel comfortable. I don't say we should pay top-dollar for him, but between 5 and 5.5 a season should be reasonable. What do you think ?

I want in the TOP-10 !!! AARRGGHHHH ! Friday: Montreal @ New Jersey Washington @ Carolina Dallas @ Pittsburgh St Louis @ Minnesota Phoenix @ Chicago Anaheim @ Edmonton Colorado @ San Jose Saturday: NY Rangers @ Ottawa Carolina @ Buffalo Pittsburgh @ Toronto Nashville @ Montreal Atlanta @ NY Islanders Dallas @ Philadelphia Washington @ Florida Phoenix @ Detroit Boston @ Tampa Bay Chicago @ St Louis Columbus @ Calgary Colorado @ Los Angeles Sunday: Atlanta @ New Jersey Vancouver @ Minnesota Edmonton @ Anaheim

Not even for the right amount of money ?

That's what a lot of people read, but I've never seen results of this less motivation that so many people speak of. The last two seasons in NY he had 123 and 96 points... certainly not bad. He has some difficulties this year adjusting to Gomez and Drury and not having Michael Nylander (Capitals) or Straka (injured for a month) at his side. I'm sure he'll finish close to a 100 points are above this season. And if you can get a 100-point scorer and Future Hall of Famer, then why not ? I heard so many people shouting for Jeremy Roenick when he was a free agent this summer... then we should definately want Jaromir Jagr,...

It's always nice to read about players who have this totally "other" side to them. Class act, that Ovechkin dude. Warms my heart.

Don't care as long as Ozzie makes his record 16-0 against TB. So the Wings win. 4-1 / 4-2 Be aware of Lecavalier though... man, is he dangerous...

Oh dude.. you're forgetting something... this isn't EAS Sports' NHL 08. this is real hockey ! So Ozzie lets in three and that's that for a good goaltender ? It doesn't work that way. Every noticed that most, by us considered as great, goaltenders finish the 82-game season with a GAA above 2.00. That's because besides all those shutouts and all those 1 / 2 GAA games, they have games with 3, 4 even 5 goals against. Check out it this season: Martin Brodeu: 3 x 3 GAA, 3 X 4 GAA, 2 x 5 GAA Mika Kiprusoff: 7 x 3 GAA, 7 x 4 GAA, 0 x 5 GAA Roberto Luongo: 8 x 3 GAA, 3 x 4 GAA, 0 x 5 GAA Chris Osgood: 2 x 3 GAA, 1 x 4 GAA So all things considered, Ozzie is really not doing that bad. Sorry to wake you up from your fantasy game.. [edit: spelling]

Not given the chance to start in Anaheim in one pic and having a 4-0-0 start with a 1.23 GAA and a 0.954 sv% in Phoenix in the other pic. edit: Tori Spelling

I can't say if I like or dislike Hartnell very much. I know the dude, but haven't followed his career enough to have an opinion. But some of you say he's a cheapshot, so there's obviously some truth to that. However, I've watched the hit a couple of times, but to be fair, I don't think it's a very bad hit. It doesn't look intentional to me at least. I think it's just very unlucky.

The hot hand is #1 obviously. So Ozzie starts against the Flames. (Dom will start against TB I read.. so no worries) 6-1 Red Wings
