Nice to have you back Aflac.. we're all kind of worrying here.. game: The Blues are not last season's Blues. They're a better team right now. So no walk-over tonight... besides that, the Blues always seem to find their A-game against the Wings.. But we have Ozzie.. so: 3-1 Wings. Go Get 'em Oz !!
-
Good piece. However, Cleary a B+ ? Love the guy, but that's probably a bit much at this point in the season. Hasek a C, Ozzie an A... who would have thought ??????
-
Like Babcock said: ozzie has earned the right to start.
-
They'll retire David Aebisher too probably..
-
Oh, What a Lovely Tea Party
-
Detroit vs. New York Rangers THAT would be awesome. A genuine old school, original six Stanley Cup final.
-
I think (& hope) the Red Wings will remain within the Illitch family. If by circumstances the Illitches would sell the Red Wings, they would make sure it would be to Red Wings-worthy owner. But that won't happen. As aforementioned, we have GM's as grounded as Ken Holland and a proud owners like the Illitch Family, we will be fine.

Lead your team to win a Stanley Cup / Win individual awards. Forsberg and Brind"Amour did that. Sundin didn't. (yet)

Turgeon (he isn't playing anymore) : 1301 points. Bure: 2 Rocket Richard awards, 1 Calder, 3rd in NHL history in goals per game average Fleury: 1 Stanley Cup, 1 Calder, Averaged over a point a game over 1000+ games Dino: is not a bad example... he should have gotten in. Oates: 1000 assists, 1400 points... he should have another shot at it. And if the international achievements do count as heavily as NHL merrits, then why aren't Boris Mikhailov or Sergei Makarov in the HHOF ? But let's face it. You have another opinion on some players as I have, which is cool. {DOUBLE POST..... SORRY ABOUT THAT}

It took me a while, but I really did think of that myself. I tried to think of something which would have the impact of , but that one is out of my league. Thanks for noticing my nifty penmanship though !

By stats I mean: having around 1000 points, being a top-player for many years, not winning a cup / individual award and not being selected / considered into the hall. For example, Pierre Turgeon, Dino Ciccarelli, Pavel Bure, Theoren Fleury, Adam Oates.
-
Those are nice accomplishments, but nothing HOF-worthy, imo. There are a lot of players who have similar stats, but are still not in the Hall. Sundin has no Stanley Cup, hasn't appeared in a Stanley Cup final even and has not one a single individual award.
-
It's quite easy to deny actually. Dom didn't play last night, so it's literally impossible to say how he would have played and what the score would have been.
-
Man... what kind of an Ozzie fan am I ??? Didn't know about that Medicine Hat goal... Mats Sundin - No (for accomplishing what exactly ??) Eric Lindros - No (for accomplishing what exactly ??) Peter Forsberg - YES Jeremy Roenick - No (for accomplishing what exactly ??) Rod Brind'Amour - YES Mark Recchi - No (for accomplishing what exactly ??) Mike Modano - YES Keith Tkachuk - No (for accomplishing what exactly ??) Chris Osgood - YES Scott Niedermayer - YES Brendan Shanahan - YES Sergei Fedorov - YES Rob Blake - Maybe. Alexander Mogilny - No Curtis Joseph - No Teemu Selanne - No Gary Roberts - No Nikolai Khabibulin - Nikolai Khabibulin ???????????????????????????????????? NO !!

Ducks could trade Schneids if Neidermeyer returns

If the salary cup were 60 mil yes... -
Absolutely true. Cheveldae, Joseph, Essensa, Ing, Hodson, Legace, Osgood, Riendeau, Ranford. I'm not saying they were all elite NHL goalies and should have been treated as such, but most of them were treated quite bad in their day. I still feel bad for how Cheveldae was treated. That was really too much..
-
Well, a 28-save shutout to begin ... Not bad ! GO Bryzgalov !
-
And this sngle event of circumstances gives him the label "overrated" ? that's too weak of an argument, IMO.
-
EUZ, you say Tommy Salo was overrated. fair enough, that's your opinion. But what have Vezina rankings, whether they are legitimate rankings or not is not even the issue, to do with the fact that you think he's overrated ? Curtis Joseph finished once place behind him with better stats, Sean Burke finished in front of him with better stats. So ? It only means Salo has gotten more votes. Does that mean he is overrated ?? Generally, I really do value your opinion EUZ, but you can't explain / justify / strengthen everything with statistics. Sometimes it's just a gut feeling. [edit: tori spelling]
-
The registering is indeed just for the lottery... that's what I thought too at least.. Our votes will be fine.
-
Thanks Jen ! That's really kind of you.
-
This means YOU think they are overrated due to their flair I take it ? Cause I really don't remember Fred Brathwaite, Marc Denis or Jocelyn Thibault as beijng flashy goaltenders. I'm not saying I would consider them as premier, eilte NHL goaltenders, but overrated ??? No. In my book, Tommy Salo was a strong NHL goaltender who was internationally TOP 3 for many years. Maybe you don't think he was of the topgoaltenders in his years, but to say he was overrated is hardly true.
