    Complicated Osgood Question

I put Salo ahead of Joseph becuase of his international succes. But of course .. all my choices are my choices. You think Salo shouldn't be anywhere near this list, which is fine. I think he should, because the aformentioned reasons. Exaclty, he's a jerk. And while I know I lists like this should be a pure reflection of their achievements, I tend to go with players / goaltenders who weren't just great athletes but also great personalities. Hence my choices for Richter, Osgood and Salo.

    Complicated Osgood Question

Well, you don't have to agree of course. I just think he was an incredibly talented goalie with one of the best glovehands i've seen the last ten years. Underestimated is the correct word, I guess.

    Complicated Osgood Question

No no, I mean winning in the sence that he didn't win a Cup or an individual award. 446 wins is an incredible feat, but he hasn't been in a Stanley Cup final once.

12 out of 19 is not great, but as none of us have really scored big time, it's acceptable I guess.. Thanks for putting it all together again, Aussie_wing !!

    Complicated Osgood Question

Nice list, but I would put Mike Richter on it. First of all he was a Vezina contender for several years, finishing 3rd and 5th once, he was named to the All-Star team in 92, 94 and 2000(being the MVP in 94 even !), he won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 94, won a Olympic silver medal, won 300 NHL games and holds numerous franchise records for the Rangers. But most important of all, he did his job for many many years very good on a mediocre (at best) team in New York. Besides that, he is a nice and likeable guy and a true ambassador for NHL hockey. We can't say the same about Ed Belfour, can we ? As much as I love Curtis Joseph as a human being and an athlete... he didn;t win much. So he's of my TOP-10 too. I replaced him with Tommy Salo, who did nothing short of a little miracle in Edmonton for years. And internationally he ws Sweden's mainstay for almost ten years. Unfortunately he wasn't the same after the infamous Salt Like City game against Belarus. So my list would be like this: 1) Martin Brodeur 2) Patrick Roy 3) Dominik Hasek 4) Billy Smith 5) Chris Osgood 6) Grant Fuhr 7) Mike Richter 8) Tom Barrasso 9) Mike Vernon 10) Tommy Salo

    Complicated Osgood Question

I think Ozzie wil get in the HOF. As mentioned earlier though... he will have to wait for it. Kind of an Vanbiesbrouck scenario. Although it was "easier" for him because he's the winningest US-born goalie. So that gives him an edge. If Ozzie gets his 400 carreer wins, he has a very good shot, IMO.

Good for Dom to have a win. Boosts confidence after missing five games. And it keeps our streak alive !

    Next Question (LGW STYLE)

    - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? I'm big fan of the man, but it would be Larionov. - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? 100 % - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? again, 100 % - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Gordie Howe - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Ken Holland ! (not a joke) - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? 100 points would be awesome. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Larionov was never the goal scorer, so he would be the playmaker for sure. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? 5 years - 4.2 a year - Rafalski or Schneider? Schneider. But at the end of this season, I'll hopefully say Rafalski. - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? Maltby

Eric Lindros, bust or biggest bust ever?

I wouldn't go that far, but he almost single handedly got the Flyers to the 97 SC Finals. He was the sole reason they had a fighting chance.

    Shutout x 5...

" and worst of all Giguere, " ??? Do you really think he some kind of a special arrangement with the NHL to have bigger pads and a bigger chest protector ?

Same goes for Niedermayer. He should be banned for unsportsmanlike conduct..

I don't like Avery. And I'll be honest: I like not liking him.

    Shutout x 5...

Well, Martin Brodeur is somewhat of a standup goaltender. And (besides his horrendeous season start thus far..) we really can't say it's easy to score against hum because of his non-butterfly style.

    Pascal Leclaire

This guy really amazes me. Last two seasons he showed he had all the potential of being a really god goaltender, but sometimes he was just horrible (Yes, I know he was playing for Columbus.. ), hence the rise of Frederik Norrena. Somehow he found his groove and is stellar in net for the Blue Jackets this season. The dude has 5 shutouts in 9 games, sporting a very nice .960 sv%. Of course he (and the Jackets) will not be able to maintain this pace. But let's say, he would manage to have another 5 shutouts during the course of, let's say 60 games, then he would have 10 shutouts. Not bad . Or is he another Brian Boucher ? A few moments of stardom and then fade into obscurity ? I hope not.

    Howard's career potential: 1A goalie?

I don't want to make a Chris Osgood thread, so I'll keep it short: I don't agree with the first part. I do agree with the second part. Now, back to Jimmie Howard.
