Chris Osgood. Who else ??

Who is your biggest suprise and / or dissapointment so far? My biggest suprise would be Tim Thomas, Boston's goaltender. The dude was going to be a backup with Manny Fernandez coming in. However, he has posted awesome numbers. I doubt he will be able to maintain this level of play till the end of the season, but for now.... I'm impressed. I'm equally impressed with Marty Biron (and the Flyers), but that isn't a suprise somehow. He always has been a premier goaltender, IMO. Dissapointments: Well, Brendan Shanahan hasn't shown much so far, some goes for Jonathan Cheecho. Worst however is Marty Brodeur. Like Dom a slow starter but he hasn't played one decent game. He'll bounce back though.. edit: Tori Zpelling

Best and worst Wings decisions in the last 10 years.

Good: Getting Ozzie back where he belongs. Getting Chelios. Getting Shanny. Getting Coffey. Getting Robitaille. Getting Schneider Getting Lang (still like him...) Not signing stupid-ass mega-deals like DiPietro or some other glamouresque BS.. Getting rid of Avery Not that good: Making Legace the scapegoat for our playoffs bust. (which doesn't mean whe should have re-signed him..) Tim Cheveldae deserved better too.. Just awfull: Signing Hatcher Letting Kozlov go. The way Cujo was treated ! Uwe Krupp... nuff said -
He could last year... but he didn't accept the Trasher's two-way deal.

Gary Bettman, commissioner. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic commissioner. Gary Bettman, will be that man. Worse than he was before. Worse, weaker, slower, dumber, you name it !

Suprises / dissapointments so far this season...

I agree too, but let's be honest: Did we really think he would bounce back from last season ? It's not a big suprise for me. After the 2002-2003 season his career just spiraled downwards.. -
I don't think it's brewing it the sense that it will be a controversy or something that will cause some friction. Dom and Ozzie are veterans and Babcock knows he can't count on both of them. Dom is still the starter I think, but if Ozzie remains hot, he'll play him more. It's that simple I think. (but there's a whole thread about this, so let's not continue this over here... )

Esche to the Kings would have been more of the same. They need a veteran, not another B-goaltender who wants another shot in the NHL... Curtis Joseph would be a good match, IMO. But good for Esche though. The Russian league is maybe more his thing.

6 games, 4 wins ! Nice win for the guys and for Ozzie !! Make it 5 out of 7 against the Yotes, Dom !
-
What is a shirt with a shark-bite, btw ?
-
Ozzie starting ! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ! Tough game though.. 3-2 Wings. Maybe a shootout..
-
I think it belongs in the watercooler.. But it's absolutely hilarious !!!! Especially the Robert Lang Hattrick and the Ed Belfour Hattrick !!!

A look at the goalie stats on october 17 (nhl.com) 18 Roberto Luongo VAN 6 148 .897 3 3 0 17 3.17 165 0 0 2 0 322:00 19 Evgeni Nabokov SJS 6 120 .896 3 2 1 14 2.40 134 0 0 1 0 349:51 20 Tomas Vokoun FLA 4 109 .893 2 2 0 13 3.28 122 1 0 0 0 238:25 21 Dwayne Roloson EDM 5 107 .892 1 3 0 13 2.81 120 0 0 0 0 278:01 22 Ryan Miller BUF 4 92 .885 2 2 0 12 3.04 104 1 0 0 0 237:15 23 Martin Brodeur NJD 4 94 .878 1 3 0 13 3.26 107 0 0 0 0 239:12 24 Vesa Toskala TOR 4 129 .878 1 3 0 18 4.48 147 0 0 0 0 240:56 25 Marc-Andre Fleury PIT 4 92 .876 2 2 0 13 3.82 105 0 0 0 0 203:34 26 Chris Mason NSH 5 112 .875 2 3 0 16 3.75 128 1 0 0 0 256:12 27 Miikka Kiprusoff CGY 5 119 .875 2 2 1 17 3.33 136 0 0 0 2 306:20 28 Dominik Hasek DET 5 104 .874 2 2 1 15 2.94 119 0 0 1 4 306:21 These are some pretty impressive names, aren't they ? All of them have a save percentage under .900 and with the exception of Nabokov and Roloson they all have a GAA above 3.00. I remember Martin Brodeur have a equally shaky start last year... in the end he won the Vezina winning every stat-category. I bet they all will look fine after 82 games. So will Dom. So will Ozzie. As they looked last year. Goaltending wasn't and isn't the issue.

There's a tool called REPLAY AV (v8.0). You can download / save any media that streams on your machine. (this thread should be in the water cooler, btw.)

There's no need to start a goal controversy / discussion after merely 2 weeks of hockey and not even 10 games of play. And I know how quick these things develop, because many fans have been all over Ozzie because of a mediocre game or a soft goal. I don't like it when Ozzie gets treated like that, and frankly... I don't like it when Dom gets treated like that. (edit: Tori Spelling)
-
Loo, Red Wing fans who watch the game of hockey for more than 1 week know Dom will bounce back just fine.
-
And when the dust has settled he'll even return to the NHL and no one will talk about his hit. Have you heard anyone talking about Chris Simon ???? Nope...
-
Okay, that makes sense.
-
What's he doing in Arizona then ?
