IMO, he has never gotten the opportunity to show his (non-) consistency. Which makes it kinda hard to judge him. But if one would want to judge him on his past playoff performances... true, it's not that impressive... (but I don't think we'll completely agree on this matter, Heaton..)

Even if he choked (that's judgement call..) I just wanted to point out that calling Legace a PLAYOFF HEADCASE is little bit overdramatic. He had some bad luck and maybe he choked here and there, but he isn't a consistent non-performer...

He won two games, he lost two games in the Nashville series. Granted, the 3-0 game was a bad one, but to call those 4 games a meltdown ?

Legace is not a playoff headcase. The man played only one series which, unfortunately, was backbreaking for him and the Red Wings. Let's not make him into Dan Cloutier, who had 4 playoff series to prove himself but was never able to live up to the expectations. Believe me, Legace learned a valuable lesson in the Edmonton series. He'll probably know how to prepare and to perform in the NHL playoffs.

Of course he hasn't anything to prove. But he obviously enjoys hockey too much to even consider retirement. I think he'll play till the Olympics 2010 (the season 09/10 that is..) and then take it one step at a time.

McLennan is a nice guy. And even nice guys do some uncool s*** sometimes. Bob Probert was a All-time NHL goon, but we all still seem to like him. Your post is by far the most intelligent in the off-season. Do you and McLennan have personal issues ? Settle doen, man. And McLennan WAS good enough, he played 250 NHL games. I'll always remember this: -

I don't get it.. The first year he took over from Roy, he had a great season and a bright future ahead of him. After that he seemed to have lost his 'touch'. He obviously is a great goaltender but I guess he's the kind of guy who must be ins sync with his surroundings to perform well. Maybe he will have a revival in Phoenix. I think Toronto will trade Raycroft to dump so valuable salary and to sign Cujo for cheap.
