The fact that these kind of threads keep coming up every once in a while jsut means there's still a lot of fans who care about Fish. He won't be back. But he lives.

Usually, Don is a pain in the ass. This time... he's right.

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal
interminded replied to WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH's topic in General
I like this deal. His name sounds like a superhero / crimefighter: (with a deep voice:) Kyle Calder... on a mission to save mankind... from New Jersey winning the Stanley Cup. -
Congrats to Sibiriak, thanks to Aussi_wing. And a slap in the face for myself.... 7 out of 20...

It's not wasting away. It's preparing itself. You're a monday-morning coach.

Ken Holland has been GM for quite some time now. I really don;t think he'll make a panic-deal because we lost to the Predators.

And 3 out of 10 on Saturday......

Get better Freddie !!

Hey Dustin, we are used to these things by now. Everytime the Wings lose with Ozzie in goal, he let in soft goals (even if he didn't), he was bad on his rebound-control (even if he wasn't), he was constantly out of postion (even he wasn't) and so on and so on. Let me say once and for all: In 1994 a 22-year old Chris Osgood was out of position in game 7 against the Shark. Period. Can anyone give an example of another "major" Osgood "screw-up" before the 98 playoffs? I doubt it. Allowing 3 long goals through the 98 playoffs is every goalie's nightmare, what was the end result? Another Stanley Cup. And who did he give those three goals up to? Jeremy Roenick, Al MacInnis (the player with the hardest shot in the NHL at the time, and the Wings still won that game), and Jamie Lagenbrunner; all premier players. I have seen Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur give up equally embarassing goals. Ozzie's "playoff stats" from the Islanders and the Blues? Before they picked up Osgood, the Islanders were the WORST team in hockey... Osgood helped them get to the playoffs and forced seven games against CuJo and the Leafs. Now, maybe I'm confused...but how does helping the former worst team make the playoffs the very next season make a goalie "average?" Even with the likes of Yzerman, Premeau, Fedorov, Lidstrom, Coffey, Kozlov, and Ciccarelli, it took the Wings multiple seasons to climb out of the basement and who was their goaltender: .......... Osgood. Like any goalie, Ozzie only needs a good team in front of him that will come to play every game. If he gets hung out to dry, then somebody screwed up long before the puck ended up in the net. Ozzie is still a great goaltender. We lost to the NUMBER 1 TEAM in the NHL. Shocking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.5 is a lot of money. He's good, but not that good..
-
Well, good luck to Joey. Thomas is Boston's clearcut #1, but he might battle for the second spot. Toivonen has a hard time in his sophomore year.
-
Eklund is a nut. Who about that !
-
Ozzie is going to slam the door shut 27 of 28 times tonight. Wings will win 3-1. Go Ozzie ! Show 'em who's boss !!
-
Nice goin.... 0 out of 3 on Friday. That's the way to start.. dammit..
-
<----- Yep I saw him giving him an awful beating once...
-
I would like to trademark EKLUND IS A NUT. He should work for the National Enquirer and report about the Olson Twins dating James Hetfield.
-
Well well Ozzie.... so finally you admit you have a macho side ! Awesome quote:

LA has Sean Burke and Burkie is doing quite well. (For LA standards that is...)

If you put it that way....

There's really no need for a pure-bred enforcer like Laraque. And he's a horrible skater.
-
They will trade another one, they just made some cap-space !

Awesome !! The game is on NASN tonight : 01:30 Edmonton vs Detroit - NHL Ryan Smyth and the Oilers take the ice in Hockeytown against Nicklas Lidstrom and the Red Wings in this Western Conference head to head.
-
Good to see you again Aflac ! Tough game tonight. Edmonton needs every point and will battle for it. And since last years playoff series, they have a special drive to beat the Wings. IMO, the Wings need to make a early goal and lock the game. Battle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4-2 Wings. Go Wings !

Ozzie can certainly handle the job. And the Preds are just as beatable as any other NHL team. What's bugs me is the indecisiveness of Mike Babcock. In the first week of January he said Dom and Ozzie will split games. A week later he said Dom is going to play more, even back-to-back games. And now Dom is not going to play back-to-back. I'm thrilled to see Ozzie play !! But Babcock should make up his mind.
