Playing for detroit shouldn't matter one bit.... Every goalie has to play for one team or another... He did just as well on the Isles and Blues as he has done on the Wings... Its not his fault Detroit wanted him back and decided to sign him for the rest of his career... 2nd most winning goalie on the Wings (perhaps could even become #1) Regardless of what team he has been on... He is posting HoF numbers for he career totals. I have to laugh at the people that voted "NOT YET" lmao... ummm what? is like the remaining 3 years going to make a difference, going to sway your opinion of him??? Just suck it up and face the fact you are a no vote.

People wrote off ozzie because they were dumb... he never played horrible and never missed a season out side of the lockout... darren hasn't played hockey in a long time and his strength was lost when he stopped being able to fight... Downey > McCarty by a long shot!

Games played does not = mins played though... Huddles makes more of his ICE TIME than sammy does. I said plays less than sammy and does more with his limited time than sammy does with all of the time he has each game. Downey has a few games played... and how many mins in total? like 4?

Langer was more clutch than d-mac would ever be and he was kicked to the wayside even faster by fans. Personally i think that is being useless, what does he really do but shoot fruitless shots?.... Hudler who plays less and get less shots has a better scoring % and so does most of the team. Basically Sammy is sucking up others players time which can and have been proven to be more productive.

He hasn't fought since he broke his hand... what good is he to this team? seriously... he is not going to bring any toughness and certainly isn't a scorer... idk As a player and what he can give to any team was phased out with the new nhl. I like McCarty, but i don't see any value he will bring... maybe he perform during intermission to try to liven up the crowd?? he had that one huge fight and the one big goal last decade... that was fun.. but he hasn't done squat in the nhl since then.
