Well they wouldn't have been booing all game long. Did they boo cheli... I couldn't tell.

Only two point in 2 games... he is one point ahead with his land lord in points... Hudler is Lazy, but he obviously doesn't suck... Although he Should be benched perminantly and not brought back next season.
-
I am also glad we have a search function on this board.... Please post all other comments in the already tiring Bertuzzi Thread: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42148

That he is... can't wait for the all play

Watching Thank God You A Here... but watching yahoo for the scores.

I guess we will see... All it took was a long cheap puck to go in on the Clout and the series was 4 and out. Not as far and not as cheap, but still a game sealer nonetheless. While I don't think it will happy, anything can happen. I hope Lids will be bigger than Clout

While I don't say he was terrible in the game he sure wasn't Zeta like and hasn't been since returning from the injury. He is not the same confident player he was (you can see glimpses, but it definitely is not here yet) before the 1 month long injury. I have noticed that in games 1 and 2 both (and posted it in the GDT's when I returned from the game) that he doesn't look 100% yet. The announcers are talking all this praise about his efforts (probably where many on here get their info from anyways) but the truth be told... he was flubbing passes and skating VERY sluggishly and making terrible puck handling/passing descisions. I know the camera can only show you one aspect... but the behind the scenes is where you can really tell his "A" game has not been foundyet.. Like I said above, he is playing without much confidence and it shows in some of his decisions and puck handling plays. I am a sure he will bounce back, but the road seems to be long and hard. Bert looks to have taken a step back after his most recent injury... He was showing signs up the Bert we all loved to hate on the canucks before that frightful Chicago game in April. Now his first game back from the injury is already placing his game one step behind what is was when he played in his first ever game for the wings. I was very excited to see him take the ice yesterday... now in hind sight he really wasn't at all ready. The team will bounce back from this...We kinda have to! I know it was a close game and I know the aquisition of Hasek was supposed to secure close games in the win column... but so far he hasn't really been tested all the much and when he was, he looked far from the "elite" goalie he is supposed to be. I am sure he will bounce back, but it is a bit disheartening that the game was so close and 40ft unchallenged, untouched twisted wrister sealed the loss for us. I am hoping that Hasek does beat himself up over that goal... moreso than the beating he took for the dive. Mostly because the consequence of this blown save has way bigger implimentations. Once again, the team will bounce back... we kinda have to!

Game 8 not matter what the outcome is... is when babs will make changes to the line up for this series. I sure hope for our sake he doesn't let Huddles sit on the bench, again... he is wasting a scoring talent that has been prevelant all year long.
-
Our biggest problem is that in some games we like to play reactive hockey. The wings are best when they act first and cause the other team to react to them. Last night it was the opposite of games 1 and 2. Calgary brought the game to the wings, and they were forced to react to their plays, with out creating their own. When we got up 2-1 we started playing more effective puck but it was hampered by the horrible passing play between Lids and Zeta and then completely destroyed by Iggy's 40foot twisted wrister. If we come out reacting to the opposition instead of making our own plays, we lose... plain and simple.

You really are one for instant gratification ain't ya.... It's been a whole three(3) games into the post season and our first loss. Where were ya bitching after games 1 and 2? Lang hasn't looked any different so far form the post season (just different linemates)... The only Difference is now that we lost a game you can fire him off as a scapegoat.
-
I gather Huddles will be benched and the lines will remain the same... Doing otherwise would admit what he has put in place aint working.
-
Those 8 statement could be used for any of the players on the team... Its been 3 games. Very seldom did every one of our guys have a 3game point streak or 3 good games in a row at any given stretch of the season.

In regards to zeta... I haven't really noticed him being an asset and more than Bert was last night. I guess being at the games I am able to see more than the on camera shots, becuase he looked sluggish and lacking puck control through at least the first 2 games.... And a healthy Z would have picked up that puck and not allowed Giowhateverthell his name is get that shot. He hasn't played like he had before with his linemates... Dats is doing the job all by himself. Assisted once by holmer and once unassisted. In games one and two at least, Zeta was knocked off stride and off the puck on a regular basis. I am not saying he won't improve, but I am also not saying he is playing the player we have come to expect. Him coming back was a huge moral boost for the fans and I am sure the team... but so far that has been by name only. He hasn't had a good game yet since coming back form injury... but on the same note his game play hasn't hurt us as much as it did last game in the loss. Sure the first line is working but I see it more as working the same way it did when Zeta was out of the line up. I am sure he will eventually back in with them, but so far it has been the Dats show on the first line... Zeta has been more like a stage hand. Well for the goal scoring those 9 have been spread between 5 guys really. People are bitching about lack of production by certain players and the really problem is the line mates they have aren't working for them. Babs refuses (as he did last season) to make the lines as effective they possibly can. not to mention the benching of one of the 7 players with the points, in favor of one player who hasn't had a stand out year.
-
Yep that is how i feel... When every body went orgasmic when we signed him originally I had to look him up to see who the hell he was and what he does to make him so coveted by fans of this team. Looked through his history and found nothing in his past that would justify such hatred of his play right now. He is on par with EVERY other season, pre and post wings career. Problem is also that many people on here (as evidenced by their attendance at the Joe bitching) only see the game through the camera lense.... So much is done outside of the Live TV spot that many don't see in the actual game when being there. Like I said earlier... Lang is nothing more than a poor mans safe bet scapegoat for when a loss happens.
-
Wow... you and MrSandMan have almost the same user name... and the same views... how cool is that
-
Or the other players not named Draper or Cleary, but by all means single out Lang on this one
-
yeah I would pick Lilja, but well damn offsides graced me with the great sig. I can't hate on the guy after this masterpiece
-
Not really its called a SAFE scapegoat... Pick a player hated by most. I am used to it wilth ozzie already
-
And by avoiding those other concerns we once again will falter in the 1st round. But do, go right ahead, you found your scapegoat so far this year... stick with it, you will have many on board with you. I applaud you stick to your guns by singling out Lang like so many have done to the goalies in years past... It works wonders to solve the problem we have each and every year doesn't it? I am more concerned about our other lines not consistantly producing more than 1 or 2 players. But by all means focus all your anger on Lang.
-
Not to mention it was pre-salary cap... or am I wrong about that? And the current play definitely doesn't equate to your current salary... but the play you had previous to that current contract. Next contracted price will reflect their current play. I am sure Lang's will go down (as will many other players post-cap compared to pre-cap) and I am sure if we keep Cleary and he keeps it up... his will increase a bit.
-
Well then I urge you... do tell how Lang having a point so far in the playoffs is a reason to single him out as being lazy and sucks? Thats what I don't get... He has more points this playoffs than eight other players on the team. How is that being any more lazy than those other eight? For me, you saying... Detroit controlled the play most of the night... pretty much invalidates your post We were on our heals almost the entire game. Gams 1 and 2 (apart from 2nd period of game 2) Wings were acting instead of reacting.... Game 3 they were reacting and thus lost the game.
-
By continuing I mean... He has been on the first line for first 3 games... and you continue to put him on the first line in your post... that is continuing to put him on the first line, correct? As far as the chemisty... I would agree it WAS there before he got hurt. Since Zeta has been out it has been all Dats with little or no help from Zeta. Dats goal in game 1 was assisted by Holmerand schnides (no zeta) and Dats goal in Game 2 was unassisted (also no Zeta). While I wish Zeta would return to form, he is not at 100% and despite the belief he is working his ass off all the time out there, he is also getting knocked off the puck very easily and not making or accepting passes like he did when the "chemistry" was on. Bashing Lang should be the least up peoples concerns... until we get all players on our top line producing like they used to.
