Yeah I don't think we should get rid of Ozzie even after Manny comes back. Manny has to prove now that he is able to stay healthy before we even dream about dumping another goalie.

Personally right now, Ozzie is more important to the Wings than Legace is. For the plain simple fact that Manny has not shown he can remain healthy from his initial injury sufferec in early november. Even if Manny comes back, he seems to be a little on injury laden side. but that is just IMPO. Stats can jump around like no tomorrow especially with the low amount of games Howard and Ozzie have. Just before yesterdays game Ozzie was at 2.89 and Howard was in the low 2.20 I beleive. After one(1) count it One bad game Ozzie jumped to the current 3.10 and Jimmy jumped to an amazing 2.99. Stats are good for a measuring stick but not as an end all case and point.

I say trade Howard... Why on earth did Babs decide to pull Howard after only 3 goals.. To save his stats from getting let up to high? or to protect everyones opinion of him? The dude wasn't having a horrible game... Babs let Ozzie suffer giving up 6 and not pulling him before. Howard is damn luck Ozzie was put in to be the scapegoat in this game! Maybe babs feels howard is too young to face the reality that teams can and will score multiple games against you. Ozzie coming in cold, facing pretty much a solid 5-3 for the first 2 goals and then a PP 3 on 0 for the third one? Yeah, Jimmy was VERY LUCKY tonight. Considering all the goals scored in the first 2 periods, I am happy they were only held to 1 more the rest of game.

I believe "if' the presser says Jiri is done for good then Holland should and probably will move someone (Manny loosely rumored) before their stats turn to crap. As the saying goes... "Crap in Crap Out" We offer crap stats we get crap stats in return. Unless Holland can somehow sugar coat the crap to make it smell like roses, we need to trade before the crap starts smelling. And I am using the term crap loosely as Manny's stats will never be crap on this team of All-Stars.

On the same note, I don't see them trading to get Manny as a backup either. Unless it is to light a fire under Marty's arse as the backup would be playing better than the starter. Then again, Manny hasn't had the chance to see what he can do on a team like the Devils have so maybe his stats would become worse than Brodeurs. Its hard to say because the Wings are good at padding players stats. I was pretty much making the orignal statement as that would be pretty much the only reason the Devils would be after Manny, to replace Brodeur. Since I don't see that actually happening either, I don't think Manny will be a Devil any time soon. I honestly don't see Manny going anywhere. Ozzie and Manny will be the 1 and 2 and Howard will be back in the AHL to get regular work.

There are other sources saying he is as well. I guess we will just have to see if #20 is on the ice tonight. Its not that I don't trust Yahoo or NHL.com but.. Well yeah, I don't trust them at all

I am not sure Ozzie will offer the return of a good defenseman especially the likes of one that people covet on these boards.

martin Brodeur,...nhl backup,....THANKS GARRY! Hey I am just going by the fact that Everyone here is set on Ozzie being backup to Manny. Ozzie and Brodeur have pretty much the exact same stats this year (remember past accomplishment don't mean squat as I was told when regarding Ozzie). So yeah Manny's stats are better than Marty's at this point in time. Its tough but Brodeur is NOT playing like a starter... Especially if Ozzie isn't.

Totally out of context but I must say it... Yet Chelios still manages to find the ice time to make bad clears and giveaways in front of his net. I agree with the less Ice time for your worst players. I think Rivers should play instead of Lilja, IMO Lilja is the weaker of the two and more detrimental to the teams performance.

My guess would be unless Manny would be backing up Clemmenson he would be the starter. Brodeurs performance this season is far from starter quality... At least based on the views of several on here. 3.11 GAA and a Save % of .892 That just about the same as our goalie who many believe shouldn't be named or even seeing starter time. Manny would definetly be the starter for the Devils with possibly either Brodeur or Clemmensson as the backup.

Not to mention NHL regulation on size of Pads and Jerseys. The only thing going for goalies is pure Girth and Height now.
