Ugg this whole trade Legace rumor was started by some asshat that kneels to Osgood and prays at his 5hole. It's totaly factless. And pretty much a lie. This thread sucks as bad as Osgood.

Stats don't lie Osgood was racking up Roy numbers while he was gone. Remember Osgood is a hall of famer. Well atleast in his mind and people that belive he won that cup in 98 by himself. And come Ottawa with an early exit and up against the cap and Chara wanting more money. Well with Nick retired we have the cash to lure him here. And why would not want to play for the Wings? And why in the hell would we want Leetch who just returned from a MCL injury? There are better D men out there for the money. Chara would be a pretty good fit here as would McCabe or Salo. You have to start thinking salary cap hockey now. So in the spirt start looking around the leauge at who can pick up right now with 1.3 million and Mark Mowers. If anyone here wants to admit it or not Fischer is done for the year if not forever. The only thing we will do D wise is get a warm body in that slot. Wonder if Lilja has a brother?

Why is it in these Lidstrom discussions it always comes down to lets trade him NOW so we get something. My feeling is if he retires after this year we've already gotten 14 seasons out of him, He retires we have his cap money. to go after someone else. Lets say your trade works out and we get Leetch Strum and Slegr for Lidstrom. So we get Leetch who is 2 years older then Lids and will be harder to move in the off season. we get Slegr who is probably better then Lilja but makes more money. Plus Strum. So your trade goes through and we can't move leetch in the off season so we are stuck for 4 million Lidstrom retires end of season. Chara hits the market wanting 4 million a season over 4 And we can't find a taker for Leetch. So we miss Chara. but have Slegr and Strum. when we could have just let Nick retire and picked up Chara and who knows what. So trade Nick get 3 players two marginal at best and who's going to be another year older and slower. and free up 700,000 in cap space or wait till Nick retires grab a Chara type player and have 3 million left to play with? I know which way I'm going. Leetch at 4 million this year. Sleger at 950,000 this year Strum at 2 million this year Lidstrom at 7.6 Million this year Chara at 3.7 million this year.

Yeah but for some reason. The team stepped it up for Howard they have always stepped it up for Legace and the WHOLE team had a bad November, Yeah well Mr Hall of Fame Chris Osgood just needs 60 or 70 games to get the hang of the new NHL. I keep saying the only thing we can get for Osgood is a bag of pucks probably used. We will pick up a Dman on the open market. Due to the simple fact that Fischer is not comming back, But I would not expect Holland to make any blockbuster deals just yet.

What's really starting to bother me is this. Manny is going to be out longer then expected he wants the MRI etc. Howard is up until then. And why is Kenny Holland calling Grand Rapids and telling them that there is a deal in the making between 3 teams and Legace is gone and we are keeping Howard up? Not sure Ken Holland even makes that call to GR in the first place. This probably started in GR with something to the effect that Howard will be in Detroit until further notice. Of course the Janitor heard the conversation and ran and told all of his buddies that Legace and Hudler were getting traded. Somewhere there is a Janitor laughing his ass off.

I'm betting Osgood would get out voted by Howard at this point. But what do I know. I voted for.................

If it were ok for a Hockey Player to come out of the closet Sean Avery would have done it already just to have more stupid s**t to say to players on the ice or the media.

It's not so much as watch a Lions game as it is to suffer through it. As for Millen and Mooch. I think Mooch would be fine if Millen left town. Hey I figured as long as we were playing Fantasy Island Hockey I'd go for Steve, and Vladdy. Although not to long ago I did see Jimmy Carson.

In a word NO. I don't think there has ever been a debate that Manny is the BEST back up goalie in the NHL. And as witnessed by most last night when Osgood got confused and tossed that puck in our net. I'm not sure I'd let him back my car up.

Hasek who? if we are going to make a blockbuster goalie trade lets get Kippers. Atleast with Kippers he has a shot to go the distance, Where Dom should blow his groin out about game 81 and be out 6-8 weeks. Oh yeah as long as we are at it, I'd like McCarty back. Jimmy Carson and Steve Chassion to come out of retirement and join the wings again. Not to mention Dino and Kocur Maybe Dom's way back he can pick up Gordie and get Mick to drop the mike and strap the skates on. And hell as long as we have gone this far. I'd like Vladdy to play again too.

He wanted 2 million a season at the time. After the wings he played 55 games for Kazan 5 goals 11 assists 42PIM, last season he played 30 games. 2 goals 2 assists and 22 PIM. as I recall the whole deal with Kazan was 1 million year plus car and house and back to Russia. Plus it came out later that he hated living in the states and it was a culture shock to him. And he's now with Dynamo and I think the wings still own his rights. But that was an interesting entry draft in 2001.
