I have a hard time believing that no team would take him for at least a pick. LA Kings should be jumping all over this one.

for some reason I decided to compile the worst possible team using players from the 62 win 95-96 season, and the 97-98 cup championship team. Knuble-Gilchrist-Sheppard Errey-Taylor-Lapointe Major-Walz-Dandenault Grimson-Laplante-Kocur Ramsey-Eriksson Pushor-Bergevin Golubovsky-Carkner Hodson-Maracle

Detroit 9 Columbus 2 Det: Zetts (3), Homer (2), Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Draper Clb: Vyborny, Chimera Zetts with 3 goals and 3 assists Datsyuk with a goal and 4 assists Homer with 2 goals and an assist. Columbus scores the first goal early, Detroit comes right back, leads 4-1 by the end of 1. leads 7-1 and the end of 2. final 9-2.

Osgood HAS to be a future Hall Of Famer. If they are even debating Lindros, then Osgood gets a direct route.

What the hell is the point of sopcast if the channels are NEVER online. I could usually watch Tiger games no problem, but every single Wings game that has been listed on sopcast has come up as "channel is offline". POINTLESS!!!

I would, considering we lost Delmore to waivers, but Hartigan wouldn't have to clear waivers. If anything, it may end up being more like a Cleary situation.

no, it was gary coleman who was in the midget league my guess would be this was during the oilers dynasty. seems in sync with when diff'rent strokes was popular.

Balsillie group accuses Bettman of forcing Preds to break off talks
alienanxiety replied to edicius's topic in General
i got crucified in another thread for suggesting this very thing. i feel ... vindicated :-) -
that's not trolling - it's the fact that the city can't support the team, the NHL politically stonewalled a perfectly viable owner who wanted to move the team into a hockey hotbed. but not unlike the iraq war, common sense is suppressed by foolish stubbornness.
-
Seems like "refusing to admit defeat by pulling out of a dead end situation" is becoming quite the American trend lately. Maybe Bettman is counting on a "surge" of new Preds fans.

But I think their youngsters (Getzlaf, Perry, Penner, Beauchemin) taking it to the next level of development is more than enough to compensate. Neidermayer is a big loss, but Schnieder is no Yves Racine. I think the 2007/2008 Ducks will be the best team on the ice since the 2001/2002 Wings.
-
sadly, i don't see anaheim going anywhere. their kids will just get better, they are solid as anyone on the blue line, and their goaltending is top flight as well. as much as i hate pronger, i see them as far and away the cup favorite right now.

anaheim * pittsburgh * san jose * ny rangers * detroit * vancouver * ottawa * carolina * minnesota * new jersey * toronto * dallas * buffalo * atlanta * colorado * philadelphia los angeles * montreal nashville boston calgary st. louis tampa bay chicago washington edmonton florida pheonix columbus ny islanders note: los angeles makes the playoffs desite having a point or two less than philly. note: anaheim wins the stanley cup over pittsburgh

I'd like to see how the arbitration deals work out for Ryder and Avery. Those are two guys I'd love to see here.

i'm afraid ken holland kool-aid is piss yellow.
-
And I repeat: anybody who thinks that Grigorenko, Kopecky, Quincey, Rafalski is better than Bertuzzi, Lang, Markov, and Schnieder is smoking crack and drinking ken holland kool-aid.
-
this off-season so far has been a joke. holland has done nothing he set forward to do at the beginning. anybody who thinks that Grigorenko, Kopecky, Quincey, Rafalski is better than Bertuzzi, Lang, Markov, and Schnieder is smoking crack and drinking ken holland kool-aid.

Holland: Free Agent Shopping is Probably Done
alienanxiety replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
Why wouldn't we be able to afford Zetterberg AND Smyth? The Rangers seem to be having no problem carrying Drury, Gomez, Jagr, Straka, and soon to be Shanahan. And the Rags STILL have cap room. Lidstrom is probably playing his last year or two, so there's big money off the table. This will be Hasek's last season, there's more money off the table. We still have millions in cap room as it stands now, PLUS you know the cap goes up a few million every year. We could have given Smyth or Drury or Briere a hefty contract, and been in fine shape to re-sign Zetts. But I sure am glad Holland made that ridiculous three year deal with Maltby. -

Well let's just say we're blessed to be playing in the weakest division in hockey. I always hated when people said that because I knew it didn't matter, that we were a great team anyways. But this year we truly will need to be in the s***tiest division to survive. And i totally HATE the argument that Holland couldn't sign anybody becuase Zetts is gonna have to be re-signed in 2 years. that is LAME. every GM faces the same issues. Pittsburgh has a whole crop of players on the horizon who will need to be re-signed for big money. Did that stop them from signing Sykora and Sydor, and re-signing Recchi and Roberts? The GMs job in the off-season should always be about putting out the strongest team NEXT season, not 3 seasons from now. NEXT SEASON. and then next off-season, it will be his job to put out the best team the NEXT SEASON. -

no, that was my whole point - as it stands now, Hussey, Ellis, and Bootland are our NHL tested depth players. I am not saying they deserve to be - I am saying THEY ARE. and it is Holland's fault. -

i don't think the Kings defense is anything to sneeze at. put Hasek on that team and I think as it stands right now, the Kings are a much better team than the Wings. their GM did his job, ours didn't. ours is just hoping he lucks out and a few of our unknown commodities has a bust out year. i think this looks like a playoff calilber team. of course, they don't have hasek, i was just put him in their to illustrate what i'd have been like if he had accepted their generous offer. if the Kings can acquire a decent goaltender - look out!
