20 games seems kind of harsh, when you think of how little punishment guys get when they cheapshot and try to end careers.

The thing that bugged me the most was when Ferraro said, "Remember when you asked me what was right about the Red Wings and I said 'nothing'? Well there is one thing - their schedule." lame, tired, and recycled.

They seemed to creep up on me too. On paper, they are a pretty s***ty team. At season's start I had them out of the playoffs. But a dynamite workhorse goalie can turn around a team quick. They sort of remind me of Buffalo when Hasek took them deep into the playoffs. I think they are a very scary team. The only x-factor is Luongo's playoff experience. He could pull a Turco and cave under pressure. Someting tells me he won't. If the Wings get passed the first round, then I see them meetong Vanouver in the conference finals.

I feel kinda bad. His son attends the University Of Windsor and is a regular cstomer in my store. I had a long chat with him about being the son of a referee. and got kind of a behind the scenes insight. Kind of put things in perspective for me.

The NHL reminds me of the Bush administration these days ... one embarrassing guffaw after another. I wish we could just wipe the slate clean. Fire Bettman, fire Saskin, contract the league, and put HOCKEY minds in power positions ... oh and impeach Bush.

if they squeek into the playoffs i think they would be the easiest first round matchup, by far. easier than edmonton, even this year.

I heard that Washington will be making a huge push for Datsyuk in the off-season, and I imagine the thought of playing with Ovechkin would intice Pavel. I say he is the one impending free-agent that we should sign ASAP. even if he bombs in the playoffs again, at least we have him signed and can trade him if need be.
