So they are going to let him languish on the bench and hopefully get into the line up on the 4th line getting sparse minutes. What's the point? Money only? They got to develop his game speed and by calling him up will probably hurt him more than anything. I hope he pulls through and shines, but realistically i don't see that happening anytime soon. Put him through Cheli's workout regime for 2 months - that will get anyone in shape (or kill them). I'm rooting for you Grigs put it together.

From what I've read, he has stated he wants to stay in Detroit and make the team. A year in GR would do him good for conditioning and style of play. Don't call him up to ride the pine and play only sparingly with few or no minutes. He moved his family here and was looking for a house; doesn't sound like he's running back to Russia. Plus there have been multiple reports of the Russian clubs not paying their players on time or not at all. If I remember right - Grigs is taking his former team to court to get his money. But haven't heard any talk from him about leaving - only that there was a "clause" in his contract only.

Not looking for an excuse - but what line is he playing on; the 3rd one?

"Should be" "could be" 'bad luck" "potential" - don't mean a hill of beans until he does it for real for a full season. Barely 30 games a years, has been making a lot of mental errors and has seemed to have lost a step( I know d/t injuries) - only an occassion hit every so often ( and that's about the only time you hear his name mentioned during the game). I want him to succeed but hasn't shown it yet(esp for the money the wings are paying) Hope he has a break out year not another break

I would love for him to have a breakout season but he doesn't put up points , makes a lot of mental mistakes and except for the occasional hit hasn't shown much; even looks like he has lost a step(prob d/t the injuries) - love your faith in him tho; but you know what they say about faith You are correct - his injuries are more the "freak" kind

Except not what? "not playing" , "not making an impact" ,"not being a top 4 d-man" , " not living up to his hype" has he shown anything different. [

So what the hell is the story. Everyone has an off night - but is he " the best offensive forward" or "slowing his team down" anyone actually see this kid - the other guy can't seem to make his labile mind up

Aren't there reports that the Russian teams are not paying their players - or not paying the full amount and on time. I thought I read that Grigs has to take his old team to court to get his money.
