    About 2 hours to go......

Thread bumped up for obvious reasons...

    Sharks/Stars game

Don't know either. Probably some problems on the streamer's end. No need to swear though, since those streamers efforts are for free... :-)

    Sharks/Stars game

well it may have been within the delayed call...hecould have gotten the first penalty and while the ref had his arm up before they touched it he got another penalty. They just changed it to Cross Checking @ 6:00. The delayed call thing was not applicable either since McLaren and Barch had a bout at the same mark. Once the fight ended, Shelley would've had to go as well...

    Sharks/Stars game

I'm just looking at the official stat sheet and I'm wondering about the following: Shelley draws a penalty for Roughing at 6:00 of the 1st. At 6:12 of the same period, he again gets 2 for Roughing. Isn't he supposed to be in the penalty box at that time already? Could anybody clarify this please? I'm a little confused right now...

    Round 1: Wings vs. Predators

The Preds are not a bad 1st round opponent. However, I don't think that they will be beaten in 5 or less. 6 sounds realistically to me. Why? "Because it's the playoffs, where strange things happen." As for the other seeds in the West: San Jose (2), Minnesota (3) and Anaheim (4) are locked. Dallas (5) is a .999999999999 lock either; they can only drop one place if they lose against San Jose, Colorado (6) wins against Minnesota and the combined scores somehow bridge the 22-goal gap in goal differential between both teams. Examples: SJ 11, DAL 0; MIN 0, COL 12 --> Colorado ahead of Dallas SJ 10, DAL 0; MIN 0, COL 11 --> Dallas ahead of Colorado SJ 10, DAL 0; MIN 0, COL 13 --> Colorado ahead of Dallas SJ 11, DAL 0; MIN 0, COL 11 --> both teams exactly tied etc. The goal differential will be the tie breaker because they would be equal in points and wins and their season series was also split. Colorado (6) and Calgary (7) will change seeds if Calgary wins against Vancouver tonight and Colorado loses in regulation on Sunday. Summary: (1) DET - (8) NSH --> locked (4) ANA - (5) DAL --> locked (the maths ain't gonna happen) (2) SJ - CGY or COL (3) MIN - COL or CGY Personal preference: COL takes the 7th spot, then beats SJ in 7 before being sweeped by DET...

Would this sum up the "old time hockey"

As for the time of the fight shown in the video above: April 17, 1980. It is footage from Game Two of the 2nd round playoff series between Long Island and Boston at the Garden. The Isles won that game, 5-4 in OT. The brawl took place just after the end of the 1st period.

    Give me a break

According to this site (which was mentioned in another thread some time ago), the chance is actually 6.5% prior to the games tonight... Other numbers are: Philadelphia - 74.4% Carolina* - 64.6% Buffalo - 35.0% Washington - 32.9% NY Islanders - 12.7% Florida - 3.7% Atlanta - 4.9% *currently 1st in Southeast Detroit, by the way, has a chance of 99.99611% or, in other terms, misses the playoffs in 73 out of 10,000,000 times.

    Give me a break

If the Leafs are in a playoff push, so are Florida and Atlanta. The patient is kicking out a last time before he flatlines - not more, not less. Since T.O. does not play in the Southeast, they won't make it this year.

    2/23 GDT: Canucks 4, Red Wings 1

No prediction from me either. No more injuries will do for now, I guess. As for Kindl's number (has he already been called up, by the way?), my guess is that he'll wear #46 since he had that number in camp last September. (camp roster@RWC)

Zednik's throat cut by teammate's skate

Wasn't it the very day before when that referee was cut in the face by an errant skate in the Rangers-Flyers game? a) What are the odds for happening this? b) Should it be mandatory for anybody on the ice to wear a neck guard? I'll leave b) uncommented for now, but will say something later...

Zednik's throat cut by teammate's skate

Probably within the next couple of hours on YouTube. I saw the replay, and I don't wanna see that again. Very explicit stuff.

just reported: medical stuff pinched the cut, stopped the bleeding...

Zednik's throat cut by teammate's skate

Nope. Jokinen was checked, went up with his skate and hit Zednik in the neck. Blood shot out immediately. He is rushed to the hospital according to Panthers play-by-play... *still shaking from that incident*

    Game Time Change?

Game is at 3:30 pm. Reason for that: NBC is broadcasting it (does the term "flex scheduling" ring a bell? ) Have a good time at the Joe. I wish I could attend one within the next few years. Just born on the wrong side of the pond...

    Leafs for the win!

GDT Panthers@Leafs on HFboards It's pretty good to see how moods change during the game from confidence to anger to sarcasm... By the way: What did Major Pest aka Tucker do that he received an unsportsmanlike conduct plus 10 mins plus an ejection?

    Kovalchuk Hit

There ya go: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=36e_1201063360 EDIT: Damned, three fools having the same idea at the same time - trying to use a search engine... xD EDIT2: Roszival hadn't a chance to see this one coming. I guess it'll be something like 3 to 5 games for Kovalchuk...

1/10 GDT: Wild 6, Red Wings 5 (SO)

This whole jinxing thing reminds me somehow of the following: Anyway, back to topic: There will be no threepeat of the 7-letter-word. Wings still manage to win this one.

    Massive brawl

To the Russians on the boards: Can someone of you dig out a link to some statistics to this game?

I just laughed my *bleep* off! This one is really good...

Chris Simon Faces More Punishment From NHL

After watching the video and concerning Simon's history, I'd take him out for the season since the Islanders have 51 games left. On the other hand, is it just me thinking this or have Campbell and his staff loosened the grip on deliberate and dangerous actions during the past couple of weeks? He'll probably end up with another 30 games.

Official: Weight traded to Ducks for Andy McDonald

McDonald to St. Louis for Weight and some bags of pucks? *sarcasm* The timing of that move is brilliant, since we will be playing the Blues three times within 12 days starting on December 20th. Merry Christmas! *end sarcasm*

    12/15 GDT: Red Wings 5, Panthers 2

OK, the game will go like this: The Cats take either a one-goal lead or a tie into the final minute of regulation. Within the final minute, they will have blown that lead or lost the tie. Florida have been an expert on late breakdowns, so don't be worried about a possible late goal for the Wings. *prepares for some more cursing from his girlfriend, a Panthers fan*
