Other probable picks could have been Corazzini or Cullen. I think they went with Hartigan because he is the most experienced on NHL level from that trio. (side note: from? of? Gotta train my grammar skills a little bit... )

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=345021 I guess they just wanted to save costs for rink adjustment...

Quote from http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AkAi...&type=lgns: Makes sense. On the other hand, this also means no home-and-home with TOR...

Interesting passage on the bottom of the tsn.ca article: That would be 6 times vs. Central 3 times vs. Pacific/Northwest twice vs. Eastern Conference
-
It would be very good to pick three teams from the following: Toronto Maple Leafs Montreal Canadiens New York Rangers Boston Bruins Philadelphia Flyers Pittsburgh Penguins Buffalo Sabres Washington Capitals (if Ovechkin stays on that team for a prolonged period) Ottawa Senators However, I would guess that teams will change on an annual basis, with all 15 Eastern teams getting an extra game during a 5-year span. Note that there are three extra games and three divisions per conference. Thus, my guesses for next year are TOR (can you say home-and-home here? ), one out of NJ, NYI or NYR and FLA.

One-goal affair for the Red Wings. On another note, could someone please try to evaluate Detroit's record with aflac starting the GDT?

One-goal affair for the Wings since we can't go 0-and-3 on CHI this early in the season. Side note: Where's aflac? I'm missing the eye candy on the GDT... -
Yup. I think he'll get something like 10 games for that.

The REAL Sharks logo, not the "leaked" prototype
German Red Wing replied to Defenseman13's topic in General
http://sharks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=pa...rticleid=335227 As per today, the logo change is made official. -

Those Predators jerseys look for me a little like they've been put together in a hurry. "Take some white fabric for the body as it's required by league rules. Hm, and those silver stuff could be used for the arms. It's important to represent the current color scheme. It will change anyways in a few years time so it doesn't matter what it looks like." The white, in my eyes, is a disgrace and just plain ugly. Either make it all white or all silver, but do not mix up colors. The dark blue one is more suitable, even with the yellow piping, but still looks like patchwork..

Err... Just for the record, Foster has been re-signed by the Wild today.

People, it is clear that this picture mentioned above is a friggin Team Canada jersey with the RW logo friggin photoshopped on it. This is not the thread for RUMORS HOW THEY COULD LOOK LIKE. This is the thread for CORRECT INFORMATION as stated in the underline. Please consider that when adding new replys. Thank you. *ends rant*

Phoenix or Edmonton. And I wouldn't rule out Long Island and Carolina as well. Definitely NOT on that "worst team" list is Florida. They will be in a multi-team race for the 8th in the East... EDIT: Forgot to mention Nashville. If they get into injury trouble early this season, they will be a candidate as well.

Errrrr.... nope. Group 3 are UNrestricted free agents: NHL Free Agent List

Hartigan had brief stints with the Thrashers, Blue Jackets and Ducks, but did not really contribute on the major level. He is most likely bound for Grand Rapids. His numbers in the AHL are above average, though. Is it just me thinking that Nill and Holland want to turn the Griffins into a Calder Cup contender in 2008?

On a sidenote, I just bumped the "official jersey thread" out of the basement. If it is existent, we should use it...
-
let's bump this one up as there seems somethin' goin' for the Sharks...

sources for that?

Reports: 2nd outdoor game in the works
German Red Wing replied to German Red Wing's topic in General
IF there is going to be a game in the Detroit area (which I currently doubt at the moment), it should be - due to that, let's say, strange schedule - either against the Blackhawks or the Avalanche. That's just my two cents. I won't be able to attend it anyway - the distance is just too far for my budget... -
Holland: Free Agent Shopping is Probably Done
German Red Wing replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
That's exactly what came to my mind this morning. Plus McCarty is not on the radar so far, he's a depth player, adds grit and he's familiar with the Wings. That might actually be the player Holland is chasing in my opinion... (not leaning much out of the window on that, though...) -
Quick update: Guerin to Long Island Hnidy to Anaheim
