I think there was 3-4 minutes left of the game and it really looked like he was going to need to borrow Cindy's box of Kleenex. The NHL rulebook states that the goal would be disallowed AND a penalty would be assesed to the offending team. (74.1)

I know there have been a million threads started about this, but I am trying to offer a slightly different take on the situation, or at the very least a re-emphisis on something that has become glaringly obvious as we have gone through the playoffs the last two-three seasons. Since we got Hossa, I have been so excited about him being on the team, and contriuting his flashy play and sometimes pure dominance in some games. I have been on the side that we need to keep Hossa no matter what, and that Kenny will find a way to make it work. However, we all know the numbers, and the cap situation. Kenny may sometimes appear magical, but he cannot single-handedly change the salary cap, or adjust existing contracts. It has been stated time and time again on this board that there is no way to keep and retain in the long term our supporting cast of (future and current RFAs and UFAs), especially Huds, Sammy, Cleary, Flip, Helm, Leino, if we resign Hossa. Even at a bargain-basement price. I guess what I am getting to is, I have officially changed my vote. After seeing our 3rd/4th line carry us in game 7, we NEED to keep these guys around. As awesome and likable as Hossa is, he isn't worth it. I has taken me this long to I guess admit it, and I was wondering if anyone out there has officially changed sides on this issue after all we have seen this year so far in the playoffs.

In this message board of all places I expected that this would come up sooner than this, but I feel that it needed to be brought up. I would happily eat a 24 pack of canned crow for breakfast lunch and dinner all the way to the finals with a Hossa MVP, but with his Robert Langlyness that I have seen in each preseason and regular season game so far, I am far from impressed. Is it just me or does he look uninterested, slow and unmotivated? I know its not the playoffs yet, but dammit have some heart. You have your best shot at a cup playing with the creme of the crop and everyoneon your line is scoring but you. Does anyone share these feelings to at least some degree?

Haha, yeah. Its a little dated. If you note the "member since" date it might clue you into the timeframe that that username was created. While I was a huge Manny fan back in the day, I think that in all respects, any doubts people had in Chris are dead and buried.

As I am very excited about the Finals as all of you have been, I have been reading in various threads that Franzen is expected to be back for game 1 or 2? My question is, where is everyone hearing this from/ does anyone have a single source saying that he will be back? I would be very happy to see this. Thanks.

I could not express how happy I would be if this trade did happen. I dont really care whether is hudler or grigs that gets thrown in, I WANT THIS GUY! He is like a young shanny, and that is exactly what this team needs However I am worried about the s*** that Holland will inevitably get from the Datsyuk slappies. I like Dats as much as the next wings fan, but he has worn out his welcome by not showing up at critical times. We all know that next summer he is going to want Lidstrom money, and the ONLY way I could ever see that being reasonable is if he wins the Conn Smythe.
