If a goal is scored on a delayed call and the penalty is reversed, do they wash out the goal and restore time on the clock from the point of the call? It just makes for some awkward situations.

I thought Detroit played an overall decent game tonight and they certainly deserved to come away with point(s) tonight. Howard needs to cut down on the amateur mistakes behind and around the net. It is creating unnecessary pressure and tension on the defense. He's been around the majors long enough and should know better by now.

I am a bit surprised because I can't remember Babcock benching a big contract guy so explicitly. This makes absolutely no sense at all. Quincey is one of the primary liabilities on defense. What on earth justified a raise and 2-year extension? Why not just bring up a kid from Grand Rapids at that point and see what happens? It certainly cannot get much worse really. I feel sorry for our goaltenders if this sorry excuse for a defensive lineup stands. Holland has performed very poorly over the last five years and his inaction/excuses are becoming tiring. It also makes me wonder what effect Mike Babcock has had on the prospect of acquiring players in the UFA market. I felt the way he handled Tootoo was quite disgraceful. How on earth do you justify starting Cleary and other various scrubs over someone like Tootoo who can actually provide momentum and energy to your team? I believe that he explicitly buried Tootoo in the minors on purpose. As crazy as it may sound, it just feels like it is almost time for a change of guard in the GM and head coach position.

I am puzzled that this is even being considered. Dan Cleary has no business sniffing the big leagues anymore and quite frankly I would not like to see him block a youngster's spot in Grand Rapids.

The Wings did their job. They kept the Toronto Maple Leafs out of the playoffs. Mission accomplished. Detroit had no business making the playoffs given all of the injury drama throughout the season. The Wings need to try to clean house in the offseason (hopefully Francine, Abdelkader, Bertuzzi, Cleary, and Quincey).
