A good GM is supposed to listen to roster input from the coach, yes. However, we have no idea if KH actually listens to anyone. -

Yeah, thats exactly what I was getting at with the same comments from Babs in the mlive article. If we assume that Babs's tone reflects, at least to some degree, the attitude of the front office.....Franzen is gone unless he makes a huge change starting today.

Most of us would like to see Mantha get his feet wet in the AHL right now, but we'll have to wait until next year. It might be a good rule in general, but its frustrating for Wings fans in this one case.

Great performance from M-raz, yet again. Not sure about Holland choosing to keep him there when he should be backing up Gustavsson... But he's getting great experience. Not to mention carrying the Griffs into the next round, it sounds like.

Uh.... And what happens if Monster gets injured during the game? Paterson is right out of juniors, he hasn't even played an AHL game yet, let alone an NHL game. Attention... Today's backup goaltender has never played in a pro hockey game in his life before.

Stupid rule. But yeah, I do recall the paper transaction just so the kids could play in the Calder Cup playoffs. I wonder if the Wings will still send him to GR just for the sake of playoff exposure and training experience, or wait until summer dev camp.

Didn't see this anywhere else.....Babs vents on Franzen to the media (mlive): The tone here from Babs is a bit harsher than before. Reading through his professionalism, you'd almost think he was fed up with Franzen. Not a huge stretch of the imagination to see a buyout this summer.

Yeah, this is really not a playoff team. The right pieces were not put into place over the last few off-seasons. The kids are great, but that isn't enough. A team has to be assembled, not this hodge-podge squad. -
