HAHAHA.... Okay, I feel bad for the guy (or girl, this is way more common than we realize) in the Marmot suit. But, it was pretty comical looking, with the marmot waving his hands around like that. Also, why am I surprised anytime Canada has such huge d-bags?

Franzen seems to really play well for Team Sweden, even when he's floating around with the Winged Wheel on. Which begs the question....will he come back alive if Team Sweden does well in the Olympics?

I felt bad for EDM. At points during the game, they looked like an ECHL team (no offense to those teams!). Not really much of a test for Mrazek, but a nice confidence boost.

Danny D is the next franchise player. I agree with above comments that they should get him locked up as soon as possible. My question is... Who is the future rafalski-type offensive d-man that will be top pairing with this guy? I'm thinking a good five seasons out, which is when he will really be hitting on all cylinders (usually a bit later for d-men).

The loss is on the entire team, no question. I do, however, think that it's a good rule of thumb to let a hot backup goalie ride out his streak. No idea why Babs didn't, really odd decision.

Heh, Uncle Gary is going to have fun sorting out this mess. Should be fun to see if Philly tries to find a loophole in the bylaws. Shame about Pronger, I don't feel like enough of those "big names" are being replaced by new players anymore in the NHL. Maybe it's just bad marketing or its the difference in eras.

Absolutely. As much as a it pains me to agree with you. Phoenix, especially with the new ownership, is not going to give up a future franchise player. They want OEL to be the face of the team after Doan retires and play there the next 17 seasons or more.

The afternoon Columbus Day games have been going on for years now. Do you guys all have amnesia? Also, how is this much different from people going to a Tigers game on a weekday afternoon? There are a lot of suits and other people taking a "three-period-lunch" at these usually.

I think everyone expected an upgrade from the team that only squeaked into the playoffs last season and overachieved big time to force a game 7 with Chicago. Other than DD (which we already had), the verdict is still out on that.

Fair accusation. If the team is mentally foggy after a four day break, instead of fresh and ready to go, then the first one to blame is the coach. And then if not the coach, the GM for not creating the optimal chemistry.
