I see them getting an expansion team since relocation will be uncertain and turn into a mess, potentially delaying plans. Seattle, on the other hand, seems poised to get a relocated Coyotes or Panthers. Vancouver wants a team in Seattle, and they will get their way. The eternal saga of the Phoenix Coyotes sale makes it look like they will go. So then, that leaves us with an unbalanced league. Either Markham gets Toronto 2 as an expansion, or we see one team fold. League won't forego the nice fat expansion fee, so it looks like Markham gets a team.

Agreed. Wings' blueline doesn't have enough depth to make a deep playoff run, and I think that is what people are missing here. I guess Kenny is hoping that everyone stays healthy come playoffs time, because otherwise, its a first round exit or worse.

Yeah I noticed all the USA HS and others, sure. Its good to see, but the numbers are still lower than they should be. I think part of the problem is that NCAA doesn't co-operate with the NHL like the CHL does: the system where they have tryouts and the 9 game stints before being sent back down. Yes yes its all about academics, but every major university has online programs, for example. They could make it work if they wanted to, and then the NCAA would be a true rival to the CHL.

Seems like NCAA D1 hockey exists more for its own sake, while Major Jr (CHL) is intentionally a development league. Its a slight difference, and I think that is why you see more talent go to the CHL. I agree with the comment above....college and jrs should have some kind of matchup, maybe even just a little holiday tournament i.e. Great Lakes Invitational.
