Tell me folks, if the Detroit metro area had a junior hockey league (like Toronto's GTHL) with 40,000 players in it, and the Wings never at least tried to get any of those guys (but other teams were loaded with them), we'd probably be a little miffed, yeah? I have no idea how many junior hockey players Ontario has, in total. Obviously a lot. And yeah, the last minute of that video...wow...thats so unbelievably sad...

Probably because the Wings already drafted this guy originally, and then waived him 3 years ago. Now Holland gives up a first-rounder for something that he already had a relatively short time ago. Discounting that history...it's much easier to accept. As far as Piche, I am not upset about losing him at all...this guy really lit it up playing for Rimouski a few years ago, seemed like a great prospect....and then spent two seasons in Toledo after not cutting it in GR. Then showed this season that he couldn't make it in the AHL, yet again. Bye, Piche!

Ah...no to expansion, yes to relocation. Too many struggling teams. I really love having hockey in Arizona, but it has been a huge failure for many reasons (bad location, bad ownership, poor management, stupid team name, etc). I love the game, and it pains me to see this happening to a team, and hear about similar things in other cities. It is much better to move these struggling teams to markets where they can be successful and have a thriving fanbase. Enough of the damned Vegas s*** already. Arguing to move a NHL team to a city that is among the worst cities in the country in an economic sense is just simply brain-dead. Not to mention that it is a non-hockey market. Please stop. The Seattle news is interesting, especially since the Canucks' ownership has advocated for a rival team in Seattle for years now. This Hansen guy sounds a little uninterested in hockey though. I suppose it doesn't really matter if the money is right. Let's see what happens.
