Well, the season tickets go on sale to the public at noon tomorrow...with over half of them sold in the presale. I wonder how quick they'll go? A couple hours tops?

I like your setup quite a bit...only problem I can see is that Montreal is the only Canadian team in the East...won't they whine about that? Also I'm not sure what you mean by a "Final Four" to determine the champions. And to the other guy who made a "Bettman Conference"....

Game 1 last night drew the highest US tv ratings (for a Game 1 in the Finals) since 1999. So much for the popular theory that Americans don't care when a Canadian team is involved. Kind of sick of hearing that one. Yahoo/ratings

Awesome, I like that the AHL is back in St. John's! Although...thats quite the distance away for the Winnipeg Whatevers to have a farm team, eh? I thought it was supposed to be in Thunder Bay...but they never built the arena...

WOW! First McCrimmon is gone, now Colin Campbell is gone? HAHA YES! Some of the things we didn't think would EVER change now have! Next season will be better just because of these two guys being gone. Shanny will do a great job, although I wonder if he will (at first) be harder on the Wings to prove he isn't biased.

"Move Detroit East" or "MoveDetroitEast" sounds good? I have zero photoshop skills and I'm in the West so I selfishly want them here in a way, but overall believe Detroit belongs in the East.

Thats awesome but shouldn't you keep the name consistent? If its a movement, you want a common name. Just saying here at the beginning before you get going, bro. I'd ask Matt if he wants to get on-board with this in some way.

Yeah I would say a grassroots effort with a social media presence (Facebook as well as Twitter), a webpage, maybe T-Shirts, a clever logo that you can also slap all over the web in forums, etc...and print out and slap up in public, hold up at games in the coming season...just some ideas. Yeah this needs to happen with Detroit fans if this is what they want. Get moving folks.

I would also add an editorial comment here: If Winnipeg can sell 13,000 season tickets (average price 3rd highest in the NHL) with a 3-5 yr commitment, make tidy profits and be successful under the post-lockout economics....we're going to see a march northward for teams like Phoenix and Florida.

Well, not many details released...looks like much depends on the Governors meeting on June 21st, although the NHL Draft is in 3 weeks...I'm not sure how a nameless/logoless team can draft players? Would they still be operating as the Atlanta Trashers or Winnipeg Thrashers or what?

Why the hate on Vancouver fans? They're flipping excited about the game of hockey and the prospect of bringing the cup back to Canada after a long absence. It will be a good series...I really expect Tim Thomas to stand on his head and steal a couple games. He really is better than Luongo. If Boston has the firepower to get enough goals to win...well that remains to be seen.

Great game...a classic, but it probably won't be remembered as such since it was such a low scoring game. Roloson gave a magnificent performance, but that mistake by Ohlund (and Roloson I suppose) cost them big. Tampa will be back next season even better... The only thing I was surprised at? How quickly the Bolts gave up when it was a 1 goal game with several minutes left. Congrats to Steve Yzerman for such a drastic turn-around in one season!

I just read the Detroit Free Press coverage and theres two things...one...I'm really sad to see Brian go. What a huge loss to the team. I wonder what his future plans are? And that leads me to my second thought... And then at the end he read from the Bible. Has Rafalski always been a Christian or is this something new? Maybe PM me if you don't want to ruffle feathers but you can answer this. -
Yeah I saw this in the Freep the other day. Very sad....horrible shame indeed I know it doesn't matter now, but I grew up in Michigan and I know its illegal for minors to ride in the back of trucks. Well folks, now you sadly see why...
