Indeed he did. So yeah, in 5 years maybe, if we're lucky, Holland will retire at 60 (sounds reasonable) with a spectacular record as GM, and Steve can come home where he belongs and take over. The point about Yzerman feeling uncomfortable about dealing players he played with is valid...and it won't be much of a factor in 4/5 years so it all works out. Of course, we have no idea how the next 5 seasons in Tampa will be like.

Uh, 4 out of the 5 total Winter Classics have involved either the Flyers or Penguins. It must be something about ratings...some numbers crap that only Bettman cares about...wow how boring, probably won't even watch it. Does this league have 30 teams or 5?

I think it depends on what moves Holland makes, and if Lids feels that the team is improved for a Cup run. I suppose if Kenny kept everyone from this year and made zero changes, there would be more chance that Nick would retire. He won't waste his time.

Alright folks....for the first order of business, I think we all pretty much agree that McCrimmon's ass should be fired. If theres one thing we've seen over and over again since hes taken over coaching the D, its mental mistakes. And oh boy did we have a ton of those, especially in the first period. What gets the blame for that? Poor coaching. And it isn't Babs fault.

Right on. This is the only reason I'll watch the next round, and I'm not watching the SJ/VAN series until Vancouver is up 3-0 in game 4 in the 3rd period....just so I can see the Sharks get swept. GO YZERBOLTS!

WOW! Jagr got a hat trick and Conklin got smoked and let in 4 goals. The US doesn't even try at the World Championships, do they? Its a shame, because they had a decent defensive lineup.

I watched on TSN and it didn't seem so loud...Detroit's crowd used to stand up with the Montreals and Vancouvers and it hasn't in a while. But I guess it seemed decent for the "new detroit crowd". -
