A significant impact? It could have been....if the NHL was carried on ESPN where it should be. It will continue to be a "minor" sport in the US until that happens. What a huge lost opportunity, though! Ryan Miller became a huge star during the games, and so many Americans have (at least, temporarily) been turned on to hockey because of his heroics. Its a shame that they will largely lose interest in the immediate future due to mismanagement of the NHL by you-know-who. By the way, wouldn't it make more sense for Buttman to promote American guys like Miller as stars in the States? It sure worked for the Olympics.

No, Crosby did not earn my respect....until I watched the game for myself this evening. Even when he scored the winning goal on a pass from Iginla, I still hated the guy. Then I changed my mind when he was awarded with the gold medal, and "Canada Place" chanted his name over and over. Fine, Crosby....you win. I'll stop making fun of you....for now.

Bettman is clueless. NBC doesn't even have the rights yet to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia. They only have rights to the 2012 London games, and after that, a bidding process will take place. Fox, ESPN/ABC, or whoever else could snap up the games. Regardless, hes showing how out-of-touch he really is.

I would have liked to go with Team Finland/Suomi, but they just look so weak this year. OK I'll go for the underdog again!!!! Suomen joukkue voi haistaa kultaa! And I'll be cheering for Team Canada simply because of Yzerman. And yes, Team Sweden since half the Wings are on it.

Any good streams from CTV? Can our canadian brothers and sisters help out? NBC is really giving us crappy coverage (worse than usual!)...I mean Vancouver is in the same time zone as the whole west coast, yet NBC is tape-delaying everything out here. Plus the big decision to not air the US/Canada men's hockey game. MORONS!
