Hey Shoreline, what exactly IS the issue with no CBC or TSN on Directv? I mean they rebroadcast tons of Mexican channels, and loads of other international stuff....come on, several channels from Russia and none from Canada? I'd pay extra for it.

You know, I honestly thought that putting Conklin in was for two reasons: 1. Just to give him some playing time in the Playoffs...blow some dust off. The lead was huge and the Blackhawks quit playing already. 2. To further demoralize the Hawks. Its like saying "hey, we already won the game....might as well just put in our backup goalie!". I have to wonder....

Oh you know it. Scotty wouldn't have taken that crap that the Hawks pulled in the 2nd half of the game, especially the 3rd period. Heads would have ROLLED, and the very fact that the players knew this would have helped. I didn't want the Hawks to win, but come on.....that was embarrassing for the entire organization, including Q and the coaching staff, who are responsible for alot of the psychological and mental aspects of the game.

I think NBC is just lame when it comes to broadcasting the NHL Playoffs. Especially Pierre.....come on...JOE-HAN FRAAAAN-ZIN? I've never heard anyone keep saying the J in Johan (instead of correct pronunciation) like that moron.

I'd love to watch the NHIC intermission reports instead of the lame VS ones (they have more commercials than anyone else). Any links?

Anyone claiming that that huge Crosby vs. Ovechkin game 7 matchups are best left on VS because "they value hockey more" has never taken a business course in their life. Its about maximizing exposure and marketing the product effectively...but how can you market a product if its on a network that many people aren't even able to watch?

And the owners still tolerate Bettman WHY? What a disgrace...meanwhile he tries to keep failing teams alfloat in non-hockey markets through revenue sharing....in order to expand the market audience? Um...am I missing something here, folks? I wonder how good that Batman cartoon was....

7:30pm starts please! I enjoyed the couple I got with Anaheim playing this round. Theres enough eastern time zone games, thanks. Thats my only reason for wanting Vancouver to win. A Detroit/Chicago series would be very fun to watch.

Actually, wasn't the previous plan a temporary home in Hamilton for a couple seasons at most, and then a new arena in Cambridge right by the 401? You're going to be drawing ALOT of hockey fans with a location like that. Take London, for example. Its an hour tops from Cambridge/Kitchener. Its 2 hours from Toronto PLUS the insane traffic (count on it) that only people who have frequented the city would know about. Now tell me...if you're a hockey fan....are you going to drive right past an NHL team and drive twice the distance and sit in hellish traffic for God-knows-how-long, or are you going to zip on down the 401 highway and see Ballsille's new team in his shiny new arena? This would apply to people in Kitchener, Brantford, Hamilton (with the already existing fanbase from a short term stay), Guelph, Burlington, St. Catharines, Oakville, etc. So yes, I think people would switch to the new team, for sure. And I think even more people might just adopt a new team alongside the one they already side with, be it the Leafs, Wings, or Sabres.

I agree. The currency exchange rate issue is going to be a factor, sooner or later...so you have to account for that when moving a team north again. If things got bad, are we sure that Hamilton (or later, Kitchener) would be able to sustain a team so close to Leafs territory with a weak Canadian dollar? Its a business risk, even if you argue its a small one. I personally wonder why there is no discussion of American cities getting these possible relocations. The Northwest is ripe for a team...Seattle or Portland would be a great fit. Seattle lost its NBA team and are angry at that league...I can see them embracing an NHL team in its place.

All this talk of relocation to Hamilton is getting insane. Now we have two buyers in the mix, and we know the KHL Commish is looking at one of 3 different teams to buy (Phoenix, Atlanta, and another...? NYI?) and possibly relocate them. So 3 relocations to....Hamilton/Kitchener, Portland/Seattle, Kansas City? I'm not even going to mention Winnipeg. Maybe a 2 team expansion is needed if Bettman is so against relocating failing franchises in non-hockey areas.

Well, I checked the Directv listings and it is indeed on Nhl Network in HD, which is great. But if its not exclusive, why isn't it on Center Ice? I want to watch the FSD feed, and I haven't been able to get ONE FSD playoff feed this year for the playoffs. Pretty lame, considering we're all paying more for this. Also, whats up with the lack of TSN HD and CBC feeds on CI this year?

So can someone tell me, by the book, why the disallowed goal was not reviewed? In the final minutes of a PLAYOFF game, I cannot see why this league isn't more professional. It was a game tying goal. Why isn't it automatically reviewed LIKE IN THE OTHER PRO LEAGUES?!?!

And THAT is why the NFL is, to be honest, run in a more professional manner than the NHL. This is 2009 and the league is acting like its 1979. We have all the cameras and tech to review every call over and over to your heart's content, and they chose not to use that....to the dismay of many fans. And you make a very good point....they could simply discuss a call between the refs/linesmen to make sure a mistake was not being made. This should be a mandatory rule that the NHL ENCOURAGES its officials to do. But no, one guy gets to decide the outcome of the game....and everyone that isn't a Ducks fan looks at the NHL and thinks its a joke. Also, anyone know why the NFL is more conscious about these things while the NHL couldn't care less? Does it have anything to do with a larger base of passionate fans that they're frightened that they might lose?

I was hoping something like this would materialize during the lockout a while back. However, I think owners are too frightened of going out alone, and the threat of legal action from the NHL. I also believe that the league reserves the right to the team logos and names? This is a little drastic. However, I think that within a NHL season, there should be a "Original Six Series" where we might see a week or two of matchups where the winner would get bragging rights and some kind of trophy (like some of the games in college football, for example), but no other special standing when it comes to points, etc. The league does not do nearly enough to capitalize on the appeal of these six teams and what it could do for its popularity nationwide. Instead of a bunch of teams that are only popular in their local regions, we could see MANY people excited about the original six teams.

Does he seriously think someone is going to feel bad for him? Its a go-ahead hat-trick in the playoffs for the home team! SHUT UP OR CALL YOUR MOMMY (and/or Bettman) AND CRY TO HER ABOUT IT.
