That was my first game at "Jobing.com Arena" tonight. Wow, that arena is SO much better than the Joe that its crazy! Also, no stupid suits everywhere like you see at all the Detroit home games anymore. People were actually into the game (both sides). Tons of fellow displaced michiganders, seemed like. WTF was up with the country music and the dancing cheerleaders though? And yeah, I don't understand how Tellqvist got a star... 5 goals against = a star? okay....

I missed Cherry on NBC yesterday, but watched it at work...you know what? I had a little crowd around my computer screen....people that weren't even hockey fans (nobody is here!) were cracking up and into what he was saying about fighting in the game. Great stuff! Why can't guys that understand the game like that RUN THE GAME? Nbc really needs to bring him on more often. Oh, and the comment about swedes....ahaha...

I guess I'm changing my Sens cheering to something like...umm...yay for the Western Conference! Bring home the Cup baby! Thats about as excited for the Ducks as I can get.

Good point made in the article, one I had mostly forgotten.... I remember how the attitude towards the NHL was back then after the Rangers won. Granted, it WAS Michigan....but it wasn't Detroit. And people were actually interested in OTHER teams than just the Wings. I haven't seen that in a while, and didn't think much of it until now. Nobody here in Arizona seems to even know the Stanley Cup Finals are on. Phoenix Coyotes....whos that? All they know are the Phoenix Suns (yes, the Diamondbacks and Cardinals, too). If this league is supposed to be on the level of the other major leagues....why the hell doesn't anyone know (or care) about it? The Preds guy says we're a bunch of whiners. Yeah I'm going to whine if people think I must be from Canada if I'm a hockey fan. Bettman has done an EXCELLENT job. Keep up the good work, buddy!

I think this was mentioned, but this whole thing is getting a little more complex. Bettman was on the radio a couple days ago and said that Winnipeg would get a team before anyone else in Canada. I don't see how the situation in Winnipeg would be any different than in Nashville! Unless hes thinking of the Coyotes (the whole 3 year thing)... Still, why he is on the radio talking about putting teams back in Winnipeg while this whole Kitchener-Waterloo/Nashville thing is going on?

Your team is a bunch of classless goons, from the front office on down. Pronger is a perfect fit. That being said, I think your team plays much better without the piece of s*** player that he is.

I'm sorry, but this story just keeps me coming back to see the Nashville folks deny whats pretty damned obvious. I think its hilarious. Try supporting your team next time around. Any city who can't do that in 10 years deserves to lose it. You've obviously never been to any of these places.

I think that one is a little ways off. Maybe when/if Phoenix moves in 4-5 seasons, Vegas would be a good spot to relocate to. I just don't think they've reached the size yet, but they will have by that time. Also...about Detroit being a factor in this....I don't buy it. The fans on the US side of the border overwhelmingly outnumber any fans in Ontario (hey, I love you guys but I'm just saying!). Saying that a new team in the golden horseshoe is going to hurt Detroit.......umm. Any true Wings fans in Ontario will stay Wings fans. Anyone else? We won't even notice they're gone.

Just a few thoughts on this. The man is a billionaire. You don't get to be a billionaire by not having good business sense...so for everyone who says this won't work....I think the man is a little bit more qualified than you are. Furthermore, it doesn't make sense to keep the Preds in Nashville if they have no corporate support and are losing millions of dollars. I'm sorry Nashville folks, but the point of owning a hockey team is to make money, not lose it. Thats why I also think the Board will approve a move...it is in the common interest of the league to see a team succeed financially. If you're 60 million dollars in the red AND you have a good team....then obviously you're operating in the wrong location. Buffalo and Toronto will most likely vote against the move....but you only need a 2/3 majority. 2 votes against won't change anything.

Blah blah blah, the Preds are moving....otherwise Mr. Blackberries will sell the thing. Moving it to Canada is why he bought it folks! Keeping an unprofitable team in a city that won't support it makes no business sense.

No, actually its not completely about the fan attendance. Its probably more about corporate support...which Nashville isn't giving the Preds at all. Even if the fans did show up more than in seasons past...how would the corporate issue be resolved? Thats whats losing the franchise millions of dollars.
