Man, I hate trying to get wings playoff coverage outside of Michigan. There really doesn't seem to be one catch-all solution. Looks like I'd have to get DirectTV's more expensive plan to get Versus...PLUS the FSN sports package....PLUS Center Ice to get the rest? Except maybe Free-to-Air sat? Is anyone doing that to pick up CBC?

I love these little pre-playoff races for the last seeds! Oh yeah, the whole Montreal/Toronto/Islanders race is exciting, but the Flames/Avs one has really been overlooked. Hejduk scores all 3 goals tonight...reminds me of Sundin scoring 4 in a game at this time last season, just as the Leafs were about to be eliminated. I wonder what matchup you guys and gals would prefer? At first glance, I'd say the Avs would be the "better" match, but they are on a hot streak...and the Flames just can't seem to clinch a spot. From AP: Las Vegas...er....well, some of us thought it MIGHT be a good idea, but in light of the recent NBA All-Star game in Vegas....and the disaster it was (I guess it effectively squashed all hopes of the NBA putting a team there), this doesn't seem like a very good thing to even explore.

If you want to talk about drawing people... You guys seem to forget that the West will be getting Crosby...plus Malkin, etc. Sid the kid is the next Gretz. Thats actually a big loss for the East. People come to away games in low-draw markets just to see this guy play. On that note, CBJ doesn't seem a very fair trade for the Pens + Crosby, does it? I'd say the Wings look more attractive.

You know, I've cited these kind of quotes from the Wings camp before. The funny thing about all of this (to me), is how alot of the Wings fans here side with the BlueJackets, Bettman, the league, some blog "reporter", etc before they'll side with the freaking Red Wings management and ownership...which have said THE ABOVE....repeatedly. This thread is stupid. Holland isn't going to give up the team's future. Come on, everyone knows the W ings pick better than anyone with what they have. Our drafting and scouting is one of our most valuable assets. Roster players are moving if another deal goes down. The end.

Wow. Umm... Anyway, I actually kind of like this deal. Its a fairly risky one, but Holland, Stevie Y, Bowman, etc must have thought this dude could turn it around once on a decent team. Anyway, we don't lose anything since hes UFA this summer, and Chicago is stuck with Willy's contract. Haha, stupid blackhawks.

So the League fines Ruff for playing good ol' rough and tumble hockey. The excitement and interest generated by the brawl was just too much for the NHL, so they said "Hey, whats with all the new interest? Whats he think this is...Wings Vs. Avs in the 90s? In any case, I totally agree with what you're saying. Its just a shame that the Wings couldn't defend their captain if the same thing happened to them.
