Much respect to hiuDUCKSfan, classy post. I'm just sick of dirty hits like that regardless of what team is giving or receiving them. It really hits home when you see one of your own boys get clocked like that, and we already thought we lost Homer once this Season in the playoffs. I can honestly say I was upset before I even knew what happened, just seeing Homer laying on the Ice bleeding and a 5 minute Major being called was enough to get my blood boiling. After seeing the replay it is just sickening. I'm glad they had an interview with Homer after the game and I had the opportunity to see that he was still smiling from the win and the goals he contributed, otherwise I'd still be fuming. I hope there is some punishment for Pronger, but for the big picture, they need a punishment that will deter this behavior no matter what the score is, or what game in the series it is. As things stands, it just seems like playing dirty is worth the consequences sometimes, and that should never be the case.

There just isn't enough punishment against this when a team is down in the playoffs missing the rest of a losing game and giving a 5min powerplay sounds like a great tradeoff for taking out a player on the other team. They really need sever punishment for anything that even looks like intent when a team is losing and frustrated and then gives a dirty hit like that. I think the punishment has to extend to the next season and possibly next playoffs to protect guys when they are winning their 4th game in a series. Just makes me sick.

I am so sick of dirty hits like that when a team is losing. Those guys should be suspended the rest of the season, fined, and miss the playoff next year if their team makes it. Maybe then we wouldn't see players intentionally injured because a team knows they can't win.

If we had lost last night they would have been all over the boards. We could have lost very easily last night regardless of the unbelievable efforts of our team too. Exactly like you said it is obvious now that the Wings were a much better team if you look at the stats after the series, but at the same time 1 Calgary goal last night could have pushed a game seven which we could have lost just as easily. Then we would be back to the same old "no heart" threads that plague the boards. I don't think this series could have went any better for us in the long run though, as long as Homer gets back out on the ice quickly.

If this series taught me anything it was that we can be effective against a hot goalie.

I support this thread! Hank will show up guys, and Dats broke his Playoff slump already. Bert was looking good and Hasek is capable of stealing a game. We dominated them the first 2 games and they squeaked out a couple wins at home, its no time to be down and out on this series. Suck it up and be ready to cheer on Saturday. Forget the past, this is the future. GO WINGS!

I thought Bert was lost, the puck was bouncy, the refs were making dumb calls, and all the lucky bounces went towards the Wings and we still lost. Also who is better on paper is best left to talk about while playing golf.

Dats is my favorite player, but I am sick of hearing about Contract negotiations. Maybe I just don't keep tabs on other players as much, but everyone else seems to just sign, whereas with Dats its always a long drawn out process that makes me feel weak inside. It seems that if this keeps up eventually he is going to be going to another team one way or another.

3-2 Wings Chicago holds the lead until the last few seconds of the game and then the Wings score 3 in a row just to piss them off.

I'd have to go Manny. I want to know what he can do, and no better time to find that out than right now. The next few games should be tougher and will give Manny the opportunity to prove himself to everyone, not just those (like myself) who are impressed with his start this year against the lower ranked teams.
