Just hearing a top-tier professional athlete say "I'll take less" is amazing to me. When was the last time that happened in any other sport?
-
Yeah, that's either a blown call or the ref's way of letting Buffalo try to get back into the game. I just think it's funny that they couldn't score on a 6 minute power play (well, it would have been 6 if they hadn't taken a dumb penalty in the middle of it). Also, right before the end of the 2nd Koletta throws his arm up and Ottawa takes another penalty. Is Koletta untouchable or is he sucking the ref's chorizo or what?

Wow, thanks goodness someone translate that, I can barely understand a word he says. He's much better in recent interviews, as stated above.

Good answer. I'm not a lesbian, but I do like girls, if that makes sense. My buddy Todd.
-
All I will say is that I'm so glad tonight's game is on FSN-D because listening to the Nashville announcers is a lesson in pain.
-
I would call him a ***** to his face. You don't even have to pay me. And if he started any s***, I would show him that he's a *****.

Osgood is sucking thus far. I hope he picks it up because I really don't see any changes happening in the pecking order of the goalies. That is all.
-
Chemistry or not, the guy is scoring a lot of our goals.
-
If by liking women you mean a lesbian, then yes I am. But sorry about the kids.
-
U sure that's not a self-portrait, LOL. j/k

You get in an hour early, so basically you can hit up all the good brewers and not wait in line. Plus, when brewers see your VIP pass they give you free stuff. I actually had a girl show me her chest last year b/c we were chatting her up about getting their beer at our bar. I don't really remember that though. Good times.

I'm right off the highway in Lansing, I mean I can literally see the highway when I stand in my driveway, it's not out of the way at all. And yeah, I definitely would not be coming back that night either. The only way I did that last time was b/c we took a limo and I don't remember stumbling into my house at all. BTW, did you already pick up tix, b/c I can see what I can do about scoring some VIP tix. Also, whether I go or not, you should definitely go to Hopcat if you haven't been there. It's awesome. Maybe do that on Sunday?

I might be there, not sure yet. HL, maybe you could pick me up on your way out? I might have a couple co-workers going, have to figure it out. But as far as the fest, yeah the stadium was hard to get around in, plus it was like a wind tunnel. I thought I was dressed warm but I was freezing within a couple of hours.

Booyah, I have an 11th Anniversary Ale and a Ruination IPA in my fridge right now! Too bad I'm at work.

Yes, and though I didn't go into detail about Hasek I was saying that in 02 he was at the top of his game so I could see why they spent the money on him. I never thought Cujo was an elite goalie though, and he proved that in his time here. Also, yes Ozzy had 2 shutouts in big games, but that is not his normal game, he is just not an elite goalie. I do agree with people about having great D, but personally I would rather lose a top 4 forward and get an elite goalie. Maybe that is just because I play and I see that having an elite goalie matters more than having tons of offense. Example: The best player on my team had to leave after the first period. We were tied. My team stepped up and managed to score 2 more goals after he left. However, we lost because our goalie couldn't keep the puck out of the net on routine saves. In this case, having an elite goalie would have saved us the game. I originally said that I'm not questioning Holland, I do trust that he is getting a great deal on the goaltenders which we have gotten, but seriously we are lucky that Ozzy stepped up his game last season, b/c Hasek (the starter) blew it and almost lost us the cup.

I read the first page and the last page and I just thought I'd throw something out there. I'm not about to question and organization that is clearly dedicated to winning, but I am curious as to why the Wings never spend the money to get a big name goalie. I mean obviously we are dealing with a cap scenario now but in hockey defense wins championships, so why skimp on it? I mean sure Ozzy did well last year, he had a couple of clutch shutouts, but most people with common sense will agree that Ozzy is not the kind of goalie who will steal a series for you. Hasek, at the top of his game, was that kind of goalie so I can understand why we gave him one more chance.

Could well be, I started watching in the mid 90s but I was pretty young and I don't remember Bure.
-
I'd say Lebda for us, Martin St. Louis overall or maybe Kariya or Fedorov in years past. Dandenault was a pretty quick d-man as well. So hard to say though, because a lot of talented players like Days, Lids, Rafalski don't use speed a lot but I think that is their choice, not because they are slow.
-
Fair enough. Then let's place the responsibility on him, not Crosby.
-
I love how everyone is totally skimming over the fact that Holland knew that Lids and Dats would be out a game but he didn't tell them.
-
For those that are bitching about Crosby's comments, here is exactly what he said: "There's always different scenarios. I think in the case of some guys it's due to rest. You know, in my case it was an injury." Now where did he single out Lidstrom and Datsyuk and say that they weren't really injured? Please, you people are making s*** up out of thin air.

What happens in the vid? It's not available anymore.

Why not have some girls out there ice skating or helping clean the rink or whatever? We have a good looking girl sing the anthem, is that sexist? I just don't see people getting worked up over this. Anything which can keep our sport from dying is ok in my book, so long as it's not completely over the top. And Ms. Hockey, altho I agree there are other ways to achieve team spirit and such, the fact is that hot women do help ratings, more so than say a great team chant or a hat giveaway.

I have to respect what he and Burke had to say, in this instance.

I was really curious when I saw Malkin helping Ovech put his props on. Thanks for posting, that's pretty cool.
