I know I can't expect these guys to play like Lidstrom, but seriously even in my beer league we've figured out that it's dumb to put the puck in front of your own goal. These two just keep doing it consistently. When Lilja first came back he looked pretty good but now he's back to his old ways. Even Helm had a nasty giveaway last night but I will forgive him because he rarely does that.

I believe the book just says "kicking motion". I'm really surprised that they counted it, for numerous reasons: He was well into the crease, it could have easily been interference. It could easily have been called a kicking motion. It's pretty rare that they turn over the call on the ice. I actually wish they hadn't counted the goal, because it makes me afraid that we will get a "make-up call" going against us when it really matter, i.e. playoff time.

Going to the game tonight with a s***-ton of people on a party bus. Most of my softball team, my girl, both my roomies and my roomie's girl. I didn't read all 4 pages, but did anyone notice that Seabrook's hit was dirty also? Granted, it wasn't AS dirty, but still... I'm not going to say he got what was coming to him, but I'm not too suprised at the retribution.

Holmstrom is still the best in the league at what he does. It was really funny to see him score from the top of the circle a few days ago, the announcer was saying that my be his longest-distance goal.

TBH, I never really liked Lilja much aside from the fact that he was a big body that could block shots. He has looked pretty good though since he came back. Good for him.

I'm hoping it's just this one year. We've got the talent, but those injuries really hurt us before, and it's hard to come back and not be frustrated by that.

Sammy is having a good year and anyone that wouldn't like to have him back needs to look at the standings. I hated his consistent PP shots into the shins of opposing defensemen, but he did score a lot of timely goals.

Other than a couple mishaps (like the Williams giveaway) I thought the team looked great until the 3rd. Too many naysayers here.

I don't know what to say about last night, we had lots of chances but lost anyway. So, I will bring up something from the last Col/Det meeting. What a save by Helm. If everyone put as much effort in (defensively AND offensively) we would be a lock for the playoffs. If you missed his amazing save, check it out. As was mentioned before and I would like to reiterate. Scoring the GWG in OT earns my respect for a player, (although he already had it) but it takes way more than that to earn my respect for a person.
