Bulls***!!! So Holmstrom gets called when in that pic he is clearly out of the crease when the puck goes is...and yet when one of Anaheim's players bowls over our goalie the goal stands??? How hypocritical can you get. I wouldn't care if it was a s***ty team but I really wanted us to beat the Ducks today...and we should have IMO, if not for crappy calls. Every goal gets reviewed now by the War Room and yet this? What the hell?!?

I think Sammy does deserve some blame. Lidstrom would not (and has not) done that because he knows to keep the puck at waist level or below when someone is screening. I play the role of Holmstrom on my team and the guys know to keep the puck at my waist when I'm screening. I just watched the replay and Cleary's head was well above the crossbar, there's no way that Sammy should have shot that high. Perhaps he just messed up, but he shouldn't be taking shots like that if he can't control them. That's my two cents as a player who exposes his body to shots in front of the goal every game I play.

So, to go along with the player thread, what coaches do you hate? For me, a few spring to mind immediately: Marc Crawford (Kings, formely Avalanche) Craig MacTavish (Edmonton) Wayne Gretzky (Phoenix) Lindy Ruff (Buffalo) Ron Wilson (San Jose)

When Blake said he would like to play for Detroit I really think it was more of a reflective question than a realistic one. In the most recent interview he talks about how he wants to stay in LA and build a good team there, so I doubt he's going anywhere.

Ahh, Crawford is on everyone's list, which is to be expected I suppose.

1. Pronger 2. Avery 3. Tootoo 4. Tucker 5. The Flyers I figured Pronger would top our list, glad to see I was right. I'm surprised there aren't more votes for Avery, he's probably the biggest prick in the league. I bet if we played the Rangers more there would be a lot more votes for him.

Well, bring us back a report of how he looks guys. I really hope he can come back to the Wings.

I think it's nice to be able to have this argument. It means that we have 2 goalies who kick ass. They've both won a Cup, and with the Wings to boot. My only concern is that Hasek is getting up there in years and I don't know that his reflexes are what they once were.

I wouldn't exactly call Princess Bride obscure. Anyway, Kronwall had at least 2 giveaways last night, one of which resulted in a goal. I know he's playing better than previous seasons, but I'm still not too sure about him. Regardless, his injury was classified as a mild separation, so he'll miss 6-10 games probably. So what? We could lose 6 games and probably still be leading the NHL. No big deal, call up Quincey, we'll see what happens.

Bryzgalov's comment about us being lucky to win was just retarded. We won because Osgood played better than he did. End of story.

So, tonight they play in Ann Arbor and tomorrow they play here at MSU. The #1 ranked Wolverines(9 game winning streak) vs. the defending champs, the Spartans (6 game winning streak). Now that makes for a great weekend of hockey. I'll be at tomorrow's game cheering on the Spartans, then either celebrating their win or drowning my sorrows. It will be my girl's first live hockey game (not counting my games) as well as her birthday and she has been boning up on the rules so that should be fun as well. Michigan is going down. Abdelkader with the GWG. Insert your trash talking below. v

"Scout-savvy Red Wings are still flying high and mighty"
Inultus replied to RedStormRising's topic in General
Totally agree with that! And Michigan may be ranked #1 right now, but MSU still won the championship and we are gonna beat up on UofM tonight and tomorrow! I'll be at that game tomorrow to make sure of it. -
That was a funny video. Snoop was great. I like how Pronger pretty much admitted that he loves hurting people. *******.

Cleary is one of my favorite players because he works so hard.
-
The article interviews Legace, who says that Zetterberg is the best player in the NHL because he is as good as Crosby on offense, but also plays great defense. I happen to agree. I think Zetterberg is league MVP. He is just simply the best player in the game today. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=350187

Seeing those pictures of Pronger bloodying Holmstrom really makes my blood boil. Pronger is a grade A *******.
-
Well he has 4 points in 5 games with Flint. We'll see if he can continue to put up numbers.
-
Seriously. Forget about Crosby being the face of the NHL, put Ovech or Dats in the spotlight and let them talk. They both have great senses of humor.

Interesting. I'll have to mention that to her. Are you talking about college hockey or just rec. league hockey?

My girlfriend is from Ohio (she's there now with her family for Christmas break) and we just had a conversation last night about Michigan vs. Ohio sports. Now I've tried hard to get her into hockey, she came to one of my games and I plan on taking her to the MSU/UofM game next month. I've also made her watch several Wings games. However, she had the audacity to say that Ohio had better sports teams overall...I was scratching my head. Now granted, OSU is a little better than UofM in college football and the Browns are better than the Lions. But, Michigan wins every other category...college basketball, baseball, hockey especially. Then there's the Pistons, the Wings and the Tigers. What else can I say? She is from Lorain, which is just west of Cleveland and she pretty much admitted that no one knows or cares about hockey there.

I've often thought that statistics given in articles sound overblown or inaccurate. This time I can say it for sure. The article linked at top "Wings Osgood is Great Against Preds" says that "Filppula's successful penalty shot was the Red Wings' first since Nov. 22, 1995. That night, Igor Larionov scored against the Sharks goalie Arturs Irbe. Ironically, Larionov got to see Filppula's goal. Larionov happened to be at Nashville's Sommet Center as part of a promotional appearance for his winery. " http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0413/1128/rss16 Cleary scored on a penalty shot during the playoffs last season against Calgary. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stanleycup..._calgary_v.html Makes me wonder if the article just made up the stat so that he could talk about Larionov being there to see Flip's goal. Not really a huge deal, but I think inaccurate stats happen a LOT and that does bug me. Journalism is supposed to be accurate and unbiased.

LOL, funny stuff. On another note, I'm glad that Hasek finally showed he can still play. I was getting really worried.

I like Miller, but yeah I don't know why he was asking about Gretzky, tho I can see him asking Scotty's opinion on Crosby since he is the face of the new NHL (altho I don't think he should be).
