Yeah, I wondered why Cheli was right in the crease, he was definitely in the way.

If your post was so tongue in cheek then why are you defending it so much? I think that Anaheim is a better team than the Sharks. You disagree. That's fine. You are allowed to be wrong.
-
33 Draper, cuz that doesn't exist as a bra size (to my knowledge).

DET/ANA - Wings in 6 BUF/OTT - Buf in 7

Ok, the Ducks have a better goalie than the Sharks and they also beat the Sharks more often than not when playing each other...so how are the Sharks>Ducks? I don't get it.
-
Funny, there hasn't been anything posted in that thread since the Wings took control of the series.
-
I'm quite glad that I don't feel the need to brag up the Wings on other boards. Let's let our play speak for itself.
-
The whole point of a 7 game series is that the better team wins. I'd really like to know your basis for saying the Wings aren't as talented as the Sharks.

Since I lived at MSU for 5 years and I have friends who know the Miller family, I have very mixed feelings about Buffalo, but I want to see the Wings play them.

I looked on both Freep and Detnews at their galleries and I see a lot of Homer pictures, but none of his eye. I remember seeing it on TV and it looked like a terminator eye and I would just like to see a close-up picture of it. That being said, IMO he was the hero of last night's game. We have been missing him a TON and I told my roommate I thought he would be a big factor in the game. Schneider may have gotten the game-winner but Holmstrom started the comeback and who knows he may have had the game-winner too if his skate hadn't broken. I'm SO glad he's back, he's my favorite player and I'm going to be at the game Saturday to see him in person.

Either way it's pretty dumb that they copy our tradition.
-
Yeah, as you said, we weren't there for the rebounds, and also anytime a team has 18 friggin blocked shots you know that you need to be making better passes and taking better shots.
-
Stop freaking out. We had numerous scoring chances that could have gone in, they just didn't. I saw the trap and the blocked shots, but like Legionairre said, we just have to score first tomorrow. Come out hard, put a couple in the net, and then WE can play the trap (altough I'm sure we won't).
-
I agree with everything you said, except what makes you think Homer is coming back tomorrow?

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

All that is true...and it freaking sucks because it totally reminds me of playing Edmonton last year. They did all the same things to us. I honestly didn't think Nabakov was capable of making all the saves he did. We should have had the lead before SJ ever scored but he was playing his ass off. -
I miss Holmstrom.

Read the forum rules and follow them or get out. We are here for intelligent discussion. Thanks.

Someone in the other SJ thread was saying how good Nabby has been playing this postseason. A couple points: 1) Kiprusoff is better than Nabogov and we still beat him. 2) We are a way better team than Nashville. We can roll 4 good lines which means lots more SOG. 3) We will have more quality scoring chances than Nashville did.
-
No offense dude, but Kipper has played a lot better than Nabby during the playoffs. Even though Kipper stood on his head we threw enough shots at him that even with his .929 SV% we still won the series. We beat Nashville like a red-headed stepchild all year so I would hope that you guys beat them bad. They can't roll 4 lines like we can, so Nabby will be seeing a lot more shots this series. That being said, I certainly think he is capable of stealing a game or two, but he's gonna have to play better than he has been if that's going to happen.

:beerbuddy:  Magoo sux!!!

Simply, if the Wings can stay out of the box then I think we will beat San Jose. Looking back at the games we played against them, penalties against us and power play goals were what turned the tides of the games. This bodes well for us with less penalties being called in the playoffs. Go Wings.

I think the league for the most part called things as they saw it. They missed the sucker punch to Lebda and that should have been at least a penalty and game (by their own rules). However, the non-calls are not what bug me, what bugs me is Calgary's complete lack of integrity. When Hasek dove earlier in the season our coach called him out for it and told him not to do it anymore. From http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0315/1128/rss16 The Flames try to justify everything they've done. Playfair on McLennan: "That's the competitive spirit of the players," Playfair said. "You look around the playoffs (and) that's not an infrequent deal at the end of games like that. The most important thing, though, is you have to realize that's not winning hockey games. Bringing that energy to the game in the right manner gives you a better chance." Bulls***. Taking a baseball swing at a player had not happend in the playoffs at all except for McLennan. Langkow on Lebda: "I'm not sure what he was thinking going down like that, but it's the way this series has been. Some stuff has gone on you don't want to see, but that's the way it is and you just have to put that out of your mind," Langkow said Sunday morning. "A guy (Lebda) does that, he has to expect something to happen. If you just let that slide, he's not going to think twice about doing it again." It was a hip check and Lebda hit the boards pretty hard afterward. Langkow lost his temper and sucker-punched Lebda. The hip check was legal, so WTF is Langkow talking about? Screw you Calgary, at least have the balls to call our your goalie and say he acted like a punk. Oh well, the series is over anyway, and all of our players will be playing in the next one, that's the important thing.

The NHL needs to do something about Officiating
Inultus replied to regwinguofmfan's topic in General
Bulls*** calls all around, as usual. I was playing at the same time as the Wings so I only got to see half the game, but I got high-sticked in the throat on my first face-off (no penalty, but at least the guy apologized when I told him to watch his ******* stick), then our captain got a game misconduct for telling the refs they should have called a trip when he almost had a breakaway (and they should have). Hockey officiating is horrible everywhere, from the beer leagues to the NHL. -
Glad to hear. Thanks for the update.
