Our PP is sucking (we're at 6.5% thru the series), but the real reason why we lost last night is because of stupid penalties. We had 3 hooking penalties last night. The one on Lidstrom was a crap call, but generally if you are hooking someone it's because you are playing lazy or you are out of position. When you give a team a 5 on 3 chance, no, make that TWO 5 on 3 chances, they are going to score. I don't care who is in net or what team we are playing, they will score on a 5 on 3, so it isn't really our PK that is the problem, we are stopping their power play, but they essentially scored twice on 5 on 3s and that killed us. Wings, start working your asses off and stop taking hooking penalties and we will be fine.

Same thing tonight as what happened Tuesday (at least in the mid-Michigan area). Versus says they'll be showing it, but they will be blacked out in the is area because FSN will be carrying it.

Sometimes switching the lines up can be a great thing. I usually play on a certain line in my games but last week we switched up and I'm playing left wing next to the captain and I love it. You are correct, it does take some time to adjust, but as the first reply stated, if you are paying attention you should have a general idea as to the tendencies/abilities of your teammates, whether they play on your line or not.

What an idiot.

PRE-GAME 3: (4/17) Red Wings @ Flames - 10:00 PM EDT
Inultus replied to aflac9262's topic in General
Oh hell no, we are going to score first just like the first two games. We're also going to win, like the first two games. -
The pic isn't showing up, can someone post a link please? thanks.

I specifically want to know if the Joe was sold out yesterday (and if so was the place actually full or didn't everyone who had a ticket show up?). In general, where can I find postseason attendance records? I found regular season records on ESPN, but I can't find any for this postseason. Thanks.

I don't mind Iginla for the most part, I'd rather have him than Bertuzzi, but we have Bert and I hope he plays tomorrow.
-
Same thing I said on the Preds board: If you don't make questionable hits, you won't get suspended.
-
True dat, and I've already bought 6 tix for round 2.
-
Anyone who doesn't think Kipper is playing great obviously doesn't know hockey. He's playing great but as Iginla said, when you give up 50 shots, you aren't going to win any games, regardless of who is in net.

Congratulations to Dats, I had a feeling this would be his year to break out in the playoffs. I'm even happier that he did it in the first game. That move on Kipper musta made Mikka mad, Dats didn't even have to shoot the puck! Great job by all the Wings!

Mac was always my favorite Wing but I don't really feel sorry for him. His cheating on his wife and gambling and alcohol problems were all things which he chose and when he got divorced and lost his money that was just the result of years of being selfish. Sorry to sound mean, but that's the truth. I love the guy and wish him no ill will, I hope he gets his life back on track and becomes successful at something else.

Although I do think the Flames will come out stronger next game, to be honest if Detroit continues to play the way they did I don't think there is a team in the league that can beat them. As said above, last night was the best possible thing for the Wings in all aspects of the game.
-
So yeah, exactly 71 years before the start of yesterday's playoffs we won our first Stanley. Do you think that will bode well for us in the playoffs?
-
Yeah, doesn't mean anything to me either, I just thought it was a fun fact and I'm surprised the media didn't jump on it.

We aren't the only ones bringing this stuff up anyway. http://boards.chicagoblackhawks.com/forums...showtopic=15070 I'm sure if St. Louis or Columbus had decent forums they would be saying the same thing (I'm looking at division teams b/c they are the most likely to pay attention to this stuff). Chelios plays a gritty style and he was considered a dirty player when he came to the Wings, but I can't remember him EVER sending someone off on a stretcher while with the Wings.

That's what I'm wondering too, if he knows that he is wrong but says stuff just to stir the pot.

LOL, sounds like a good idea to me. I'm hating Nashville these days. When I try to have an intelligent conversation on their boards I get told to stop whining because I don't like physical play. Believe me that's not it, I'm a physical guy myself, I'm known as the toughest guy on my team, but what I don't like is this s***: PENALTY SUMMARY 05:15 ZIDLICKY, M. : Cross checking - 2 min 14:07 TOOTOO, J. : Boarding - 2 min 09:00 HARTNELL, S. : Game misconduct - 0 min 09:00 RADULOV, A. : Kneeing (maj) - 5 min All of those are dangerous plays that could really hurt someone. Please tell me when the last time the Wings had penalties like that in a game.

Nashville fans love doing that stuff with the Wings. I especially like this one: http://boards.nashvillepredators.com/forum...showtopic=5815# It doesn't even make sense, it's just totally retarded.

Zetts-Dats-Homer Lang-Calder-Bert Franzen-Sammy-Hudler/Flip Cleary-Draper-Maltby Lidstrom Markov Schneider Chelios Lebda Lilja We could also pull Sammy from O and put him on D, drop Lilja and put Hudler and Flip on that line. I think these lines would give us a lot of depth.
-
Man do I hate Timberlake. He sings like a girl.
-
Honestly, I don't want Sammy playing at all, but Babs played him and I would not be surprised to see him out there on D if Lilja/Markov need a rest. We have enough forwards and it would be nice if Babs played Hudler up, but we'll see what he does I guess. To be honest, I think Sammy makes a better D than forward because he doesn't have great hands but he has good position. Not that I would pick him over anyone else but just if someone needs rest.

Where did he say that?
