Yes. For my part, I go to the bar for every playoff game and try to get other people fired up about it. Sometimes I get really pissed too because other people talk to me about mundane bulls*** during a game, or people want to hear music instead of game audio (I only go to bars that will have game audio). I also drive to Detroit if there is a chance they will win the Cup that night. So far I am 3 for 3 in that department, they've never won a Cup (during my lifetime) when I haven't driven to Detroit.

Hasek back in #1 for GAA (although I'm not too keen on that particular stat), but it is funny that he took back the #1 spot so quickly.

Pistons game, yeah that was amazing. I like how the Nuggets coach could only say that it was a lucky shot. BS, that shot just got them into OT, they still had to win the game. Was Sheed's 3 in OT lucky as well? What a whiner.

The answer is no. But it's not your fault, he/she just hates women. The Wings lost because we had 4 pucks that went off a crossbar or post. It's that simple. Ozzie played great.

LOL, yeah, I remember the Blue Man episode. That show was great. I loved when his brother went to prison to pull off a magic trick and Jason had to come get him with the ladder truck. The mother was perfect in her part as well. I also loved Tobias (David Cross) in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, although I disagree with him wholeheartedly on politics. I don't think anyone was judging him. Just out of curiosity though, when do you think it IS appropriate to judge? How about when someone is breaking the law?

As others have metioned, I don't think there's any reason to have Bert and Homer on the same line. I'm the same size as Homer (6', 200 lbs.) and I also screen the goalie and deflect shots like he does. I don't need or want another big screener on my line, and if we have someone else like that then put him on the second line. I agree with Babs about putting Bert on the second line once Zets is back. Overall Bert looked uncomfortable at first, and pretty darn good at the end. Also, SuperCalaFilppulastic! I love your av, what was the name of that show again? The main guy who was the co-announcer in Dodge Ball cracks me up, as does the brother who is in your av.

As I recall, last time Holmstrom was in a shootout he kicked ass. I have no idea why Sammy was out there, he seriously sux. I'd give Homer the nod WAY before Sammy. Bert should have had the game winner and speaking of which I can fully understand why Babs put Bert and Cleary out there. He wants to get them acclimated ASAP and shootout pressure is a great way to get them to focus. Cleary scored and Bert almost did (he had the goalie beat he just lifted it a bit high) so I'd say Babs made a good decision.

That game frickin sucked, the Wings playing like crap and Fedorov getting the winner caused me to drink myself 3 sheets to the wind. Oh my aching head.

Wow that's amazing, congrats! Tonight is my night out with the boys and my boss left work already today so I get to start on my night early. I'm gonna be out boozing, throwing darts and welcoming Bert to his first game in Joe Louis as a Wing! I can't wait.

Yay Bertuzzi, I always hated him because he was a big strong checker who could score. Now he is our big (hopefully) strong checker who (hopefully) can score. I think he'll do fine, matter of fact I think that like Calder, just the fact that a great team like Detroit wanted him will motivate him.

I think you guys are getting de-railed and while it is a worthy topic to try to dissect which sports are most popular and why I wanted to respond to the initial poster. I was not one of those people who said that the Bert or Simon incident was a black eye. The lockout was the black eye, as someone had already said. For my friends who aren't into hockey, when the Bert thing happened they just said oh man, that guy is an idiot for what he did, they didn't attribute it to the sport. Same thing when whoever it was stepped on someone's head in the NFL. I said hey, that guy is an idiot and as long as the league fines/suspends him appropriately, they are showing it's not acceptable and that's that.

Yeah, I should have said, unless you are on defense. Anyway, I can see why people are disappointed in Kronwall, because even though he is defense he has played a lot of games and only has 1 goal. However, he does have a lot of assists. People only seem to remember who scores goals, and there were people saying Dats sucked while he was leading the team in assists (and most likely overall points as well). Maltby simply sucks at goals, assists and defense. IMO the only thing he can do is draw penalties. At least Kronwall can play a little defense, hit people and get some assists. Look at the stats people!

Everyone you listed is defense, I wouldn't expect them to have many goals. Shoot, Lidstrom, the best defenseman in the NHL has 13. I stand by what I said, Maltby sucks. Also, I agree about Schneider, he brings a few things (mental and physical toughness, experience) that we would sorely miss if he's gone.

I think 2 days off will help actually. It is when we play back to back road games that we really suck.

Screw Nashville fans who booed him. Does anyone think that possibly Modano's slash was a payback (however weak and *****-like) for the illegal suckerpunch that Tootoo had just dished out? Whatever though, I'm no huge Modano fan anyway. And that slash wasn't even worth calling, it was so weak, plus Tootoo tried to slash him back right after that.

I don't think the thread is supposed to be about Tootoo (although I did post this clip in the Tootoo thread), but I agree that Schneider, even in spite of his occasional turnovers, is a good physical presence that we need on the team.

Maltby is -10 and he would be -12 without that last empty net goal. He has the worst +/- on the team (not counting Calder's #s with Chicago). Draper is also a penalty killer and he is +3. When I said Maltby's stickhandling sucks I didn't mean that he should be scoring, I mean that he shouldn't be fumbling the puck and turning it over, which is part of the reason he is -10. He sucks. I used to like him, but there's no way that any NHL player should only have 5 goals in 72 games, regardless of your role on the team, unless it's being a goalie.
