I don't really want Avery back on the Wings, just because he has seemed to be detrimental to the locker room of the last couple teams he has played on. I also think he's a selfish bastard. OTOH, I admire him because he is a good player, not a *****, does a lot of funny stuff and gets laid all the time by hot women.

Well dangit, it's morning now and it's still in the wrong forum. Anyway, as someone said earlier I guess it's just because baseball is the "American" game that makes it so popular. Interesting that the game was won single-handedly by a Japanese guy, not that I really care. I wish there were more USA born hockey players in the pros, but I won't stop watching hockey because of it. Oh, and eff the Yankees. Not that I want a Philly team to win anything though, they are a-holes for the most part (and my brother in law is from there).

I'm not going to get into the nitpicking going on in this thread, but I will say I agree with this. I'm really sick of people saying that Crosby or whoever gets away with murder because they are stars. I've seen Crosby spend plenty of time in the box. Also, Pronger got suspended for a hit on Holmstrom (because Holmstrom got bloodied). Pronger was one of the bigger stars on that team. And it was playoffs as well! Too bad the Wings didn't capitalize on his absence.

I'm not an Ozzy hater by any means, but what crack are you smoking? The only number he has that is higher than Luongo's for the season is his penalty minutes. Edit: Oh yeah, his GAA is higher as well.

Wow, you are truly an idiot. He wasn't on the ice for the first goal, we were on the PK for that goal. In the second goal against us he was on the point where he should be, covering #10. He is not a defensive forward. In the third goal against us he wasn't on the ice either. He is -1, the same as Datsyuk. I guess that makes Datsyuk a terible forward as well. I wouldn't accuse the leading scorer on the team of costing us goals, he's just not a defensive forward.

I wish I could choose to vent at my job by fighting and only getting 5 minutes penalty. That would be awesome. Fighting is part of hockey.

I can't say that I agree with charges being brought up so long after the fact. Roy (father and son) are crazy. We've known that for a while. What hasn't been mentioned in this thread is that from another camera angle you can see Patrick egging his son on to fight. When your dad will probably beat you at home if you don't fight, I don't know how much I can blame the son. Throw them both out of hockey, end of story.

Would love to see he and Tootoo go at it. Very good fighter, and looks like he always starts his fights clean, unlike Tootoo.

I emulated his style of game because like him, I'm a fairly big guy without blazing speed or great hands, but I know how to disrupt, annoy and put the puck in the net when it pops out front. He's awesome at that, well not as much last year, but he was injured a lot.
